Russia missile strikes hit home city of Ukraine’s President Zelensky – BBC News

Published

on

Russia has been accused of “massive” missile attack on the home city of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

At least 11 people have died and 28 others have been injured by the strikes overnight on the city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian officials said.

The latest hostilities come after Kyiv’s counter-offensive against Russian forces got under way – with Ukraine saying their troops have recaptured seven settlements.

This old tactic doesn't work for zelenskey anymore, Ukrainian exhausted and doesn't want fight, they want the president to negotiate, but they get imprisoned when they outspoken.,so the only tactic they use is to get public support, they orchestrated by being around public building to get Russian missile attention .

That’s a great difference between the Russian military and U.S. military. The U.S. does not deliberately target hapless civilians to terrorize.

Is it your missile attack and misunderstanding of the situation? You are malicious. That is why you attribute the crime to you on the opposite side in the conflict. Sad and ugly that you are doing it out of self-interest.

the world's double standards makes me sick. When an accident takes place we try to prevent them human life comes first. But yet now the world sits on their hands actually supplying weapons as Putin kills en masse innocent people. This is a crime to humanity and the countries of the world should stop this. I can't believe how people sit back there have the power and they won't do anything. In yes I'm talking all countries so that there is no chance of a war every country parking themselves on Putin's doorstep. I'm ashamed for all of them

Safe source! Safe source! Used by CNN Brasil, Ministry of defense of the Great, Magnanimous and victorious Russian nation over alleged global rulers. Everyone already knows that what really hurts is kicking dollars in the bag!

In the Kharkov and Lugansk regions, two sabotage groups from Ukraine were eliminated.
In the last 24 hours, in the direction of Donetsk, up to 340 servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, four cars, as well as a D-30 howitzer from Ukraine, were eliminated.

Yatsenyuk was the Prime Minister after the 2014 coupe and under his watch Ukrainian rained bombs on Donetsk for 8 years killing over 14,000 civillians. The Next Khinzal missiles should be hitting Yatsenyuk's hideout.

It's a great ploy by the NATO forces and particularly USA to destroy Russia. It is a war in which Russia is fighting with a defected part of Russia. Whether Russian or Ukrainian who ever dies is the people of USSR.

Russian drone hits Romanian apartment block | BBC News

Published

on

A Russian drone hit an apartment block in Romania causing a fire and wounding two people, officials say.

The incident happened on Friday in the town of Galati – close to Romania’s eastern border with Ukraine and Moldova.

Nato Secretary General Mark Rutte said “Russia’s reckless behaviour is a danger to us all”, while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Russia’s “war of aggression had crossed yet another line”.

Russian drones have strayed across Romania’s border a number of times during the four-year war with Ukraine, but it is the first time citizens from the Nato country have been hurt. Russia has yet to comment on the incident.

Iran restores some internet access – but is it enough? | Global News Podcast

Published

on

The government of Iran has restored some access to the internet this week, after a lengthy blackout imposed on and off, for most of this year. Many Iranians are celebrating the move, which has allowed some people to contact friends and family members abroad for the first time in weeks. It could also be a lifeline for Iranians who depend on digital platforms to earn a living.

There is speculation that the move could be intended to show US President Donald Trump that the regime is willing to make some compromises at home.

But digital monitoring groups say the level of internet access is still poorer than it was before Tehran imposed its blackouts, first as a response to mass protests in January, and again at the start of the war with the US and Israel. Access to some sites is still blocked and analysts say two-factor authentication is not available in Iran, impeding many people’s access to platforms like Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

Reha Kansara, from the BBC’s Global Disinformation Unit, tells us what restrictions Iranians still face, how people are trying to get around them, and how this partial restoration of internet access could play into the ceasefire talks between Tehran and Washington.
