Iceland has voted against resuming membership talks with the European Union, public broadcaster RUV has reported, with just one constituency’s votes left to count.
It reported that 52.5% of the 188,496 votes so far counted had rejected the government’s proposal, while 47.5% had said yes. Some 9,500 votes separated them.
Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir’s centre-left government promised to hold a referendum by 2027, but brought it forward because of international tensions, including US President Donald Trump’s threats against Greenland.

It's frustating that one is expected to fully subscribe to one side or the other. There's no room for anything else. For example, if someone makes an informed choice not to vaccinate, or sees something sketchy in the Covid situation, they're automatically pegged as a conspiracy theorist that must believe all the other stuff. Or if someone doesn’t like Trump they must be part of the "woke" group being manipulated and deceived.
It's all gotten ridiculous. Both sides are the problem and just as guilty as the other!

My adoptive mother started believing in this a few years ago and now she believes she believed in it back when I was a kid and It's getting bad she mentions a conspiracy called "Medbeds". I'm saddened cause she's very old (70 as of 2023) , And I wish it could go back to normal I want to spend the remaining years or decades I have with her

I got out because I noticed that I've been getting more irritated, stressed, and depressed. Once I left fully and blocked everything and everyone, I felt tremendous relief and now am open to learning new things especially things that I once disagreed with and still learning.
