Jacob Rees-Mogg: It is time we give people more of what is theirs

Published

on

Jacob Rees-Mogg: We must remember that there is no such thing as the Government’s money. Only the taxpayer’s money. And if we borrow money, it will have to be paid back by our children and our children’s children. It is time we give people more of what is theirs.

We just need to give all our money away as tax so that the Government has enough money to support us financially.

All he is doing is saying exactly what Maggie said about spending other people's money years ago.

Our problem is low productivity, low wages, and millionaires like Little Lord Snooty taking their businesses off-shore after Brexit.

He is like a hopeless desperate school kid who is trying to be somebody in the classroom. What he thinks and says only has mockery value.

I wouldn't pay the beggars a single shilling, they should do the work voluntarily (serve 'em right!!), otherwise put them in very leaky unheated corrugated sheds, without windows or doors, just a floor (tamped earth would be most suitable). No computers, just quills as in days of old. Unfortunately, like Topsy, it continues to grow.

    December 29, 2023 at 7:27 am

Aye, but you are not giving – it is already theirs.

    The tories days are numbered.

The only way that this government would take any notice of the public, is if every working person decides to stop working for a week and bring the country to a standstill. We are taxed way too much. Our earnings are taxed about 4 times when you look at income tax, VAT, pension and inheritance tax.

I despair of the modern society – people seem to think that it's quite OK for us to give virtually all we earn to the government to spend as they deem fit. This is totally wrong. Our money is and should remain as "ours" and governments should do ONLY what they are mandated to do by the voting population. The Civil Service, along with the government, needs to be disbanded, root and branch, and we need to start again. Anyb other "revision" will be meaningless and useless.

  35. @trajan098117

    December 29, 2023 at 7:27 am

Government is at best a necessary evil and at worst an intolerable one. Reduce taxation, reduce legislation and let people decide what they want to spend their hard earned money on. Also massively reduce the national and local Governments interference in daily life!

Did it steady the ship ?, Banking collapse on its way, cost of living will get worse, rising corporation tax, adds more burden on people, what does the government think companies will do with a higher tax bill- pass it onto the consumers, which makes things worse. The rich get richer, the poor, poorer

  45. @haycockjeff

    December 29, 2023 at 7:27 am

From the guy who said Jeremy Hunt it too intelligent to raise corporation tax to 25%.

    That aged well Mr Mogg.

You are in the wrong Party sir.
