It's sad to say, I exoected tverr there to be a non-zero chance of seeing multiple torys show up and walk in hunched over to conceal the wine bottle shoved half-way down their pants, and other MPs come waddle-wobbling in trying to hide their +1 under their coat.

COVID!!! Why were none of them scared of catching covid? At the time they were demanding we all cower in our homes, hiding under the duvet in fear of the dreaded lurgy. Why were they so sure there was no risk? So sure they could ignore their own guidance and attend a party? Does their behaviour give the lie to their fear mongering or does it support their claimed dangers? They showed they had no fear of catching covid, no fear of standing within 2 meters of another person, no fear of sharing a room with numerous people, no need to wear a face nappy! Their attendance at these parties etc shows they knew all they were saying was b@llocks! They were lying to us all and they are still lying to us!

Confirmation of what those with half a brain back in 2020 (not many, mind you) guessed all along: lockdowns and other restrictions were introduced for us plebeians to abide by. The ones who introduced and backed those laws – politicians, Neil Ferguson, pseudo-scientist – never intended to respect them.

This makes me unbelievably angry as I lost my partner in April 2021 and had to restrict funeral numbers & not have a wake due to restrictions…and these bloody hypocrites were having parties knowing they were doing wrong! And they wonder why we have no confidence in government…
@TexRex6352
December 28, 2023 at 6:28 am
Oh no, politicians had parties during a time of extreme national stress for themselves and their constituents. What a nonstory. Some guy comments that they never grew up from being spoiled children. Guys, they're not allowed to have parties when they're stressed out and working together regularly anyway? Gimme a break. Complaining about this sounds like what a spoiled rich kid would do. Or some random bitter person who possibly lived in fear of COVID when he never needed to. If you wanna complain about double standards and the government scaring and restricting people while doing this fine. Even then though, having some recreation with coworkers isn't a terrible thing. Do you think public healthcare workers should never have parties either? You probably just think the government is always bad unless your guy won the last election. Then it's fine.
Also this video is ridiculous. "They wanted to hide their parties so they must have known their parties were wrong." Don't be stupid. Don't play dumb. In the real world we understand the importance of optics. We understand things are ok to do as long as they aren't flaunted or perceived as being flaunted. We understand news outlets will turn molehills into mountains and that's why they would think their actions should be hidden. In the real world when something good happens to you and you really want to share it but you know your friend is depressed you understand you have the right to speak your mind and share your happy story but you understand it might not be the best idea. If you do share it that doesn't make you a bad person. If the friend can't handle you sharing your personal good news it says something bad about them, not you.

I trust they bought the booze in bulk, with repeat deliveries, so as to save the tax payers money. It seems they were very conciencious about leaving late and using the back door to avoid upsetting the press and public. Did the guy at No. 11 notice the noise but quietly put up with it? Out of politeness he should have been invited around. I've noticed poor old Boris looks a bit stressed and worn out lately. Maybe he should get together with some friends and relax over a few drinks to chill out a bit.
@Chewbacca651
December 28, 2023 at 6:28 am
Hold on a mo, according to Boris on Wednesday the 18/03/2020 he told us that he was shutting the whole country down by the following Friday 20th because there was a deadly virus spreading across the globe that was going to kill millions of people if he didn't. Then, because he knew he was lying, he and his colleagues got together and basically said "F**k the general public, we're bored and want to party!!" so they did and they kept partying for months to come, knowing full well there was nothing to be scared of. In some ways It's a pity Covid was only a head cold; would have loved to see these f^^kers get taken out, being blasé about a virus that we were supposed to be shitting ourselves about, but they knew all along was a hoax which is why they did what they did. Politicians = compulsive liars.

Also worth noting that the most scandalous party alleged to have taken place (the ABBA party) was not covered at all byt the report because Sue Grey hadn't got round to it whent he Police took over. The Police said they would only investigate the ecents she covered and she said she stopped because the Police would look into it…..

The lying lawbreaker hasnt taken responsibility, he still believes he has done anything wrong and is only sorry for getting caught out, he has fired everyone else but himself. He has surrounded himself with mediocrity in the cabinet to ensure no one challenges him (not that they would coz they know no faintly competent leader would let them anywhere near a ministerial job). WAKE UP England! The Johnson Tories dont care about anyone but themselves.

Boris Johnson won the Conservative leadership election because, unlike the other candidates, he was unreservedly prepared to tell Conservatives what they wanted to hear despite presumably knowing that it was wrong: that he will deliver Brexit and that Brexit will be fine.
So it would be strange if his government had any attitude towards lying other than that it's acceptable as long as you don't get caught.

Boris, brazenly lied to the public and the House of Commons on several occasions and continues to do so. Worse still, he has clearly instilled an atmosphere of license to do as you want in the workplace that he heads. How he is still the Prime Minister and his party in government beggars belief. Can the disUnited Kingdom really sink any lower?

The presence of a karaoke machine does in fact sound like a party with serious and important government officials and civil servants, specifically it sounds like more than one I've been to where no millennials were included in the planning, otherwise they would have pointed out that you don't need a specialized machine for karaoke, you can run it off any laptop with access to YouTube.
