Tens of thousands of people are demonstrating across France, in protest at what they say is under-investment in high schools.
Some protests over the past week in France have turned violent, as protesters and authorities clashed.
French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said: “Burning down a high school does not improve the state of high school buildings. Lynching a teacher does not help replace teachers”, adding it is a “lie” to suggest the government had ordered “police repression” against demonstrators.

Voice-operated care robots are being marketed at older people who spend most of their time alone at home.
However, there are also concerns that technology pretending to be older people’s friends actually makes things worse.
CEO and co-founder of Intuition Robotics Dor Skuler said: “As humans we have a lot of social needs, we have a need for companionship, we have a need for social interaction and we felt that technology has reached a point where an artificially-enabled robot can do that.”

Donald Trump says the United States will not attack Iran ‘at any time’ before the midterm elections at the start of November.
His comments follow US media reports that the Pentagon was preparing plans for fresh strikes and a return to combat operations.
Elsewhere the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen attack airports across Saudi Arabia, with smoke billowing over Riyadh as the conflict continues to escalate.

The Houthis in Yemen have attacked the presidential palace in the port city of Aden – the seat of the internationally-recognised government.
Meanwhile, President Masoud Pezeshkian has told Iranians that the country is facing its most intense blockade since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and has accused the US of seeking to provoke public protests.
The Saudi-led military coalition fighting Yemen’s Houthis says it has intercepted a missile in the Medina region. The Houthis have threatened more attacks on Saudi Arabia but have denied carrying out this one.
Finally, according to reports, the US is considering using its biggest non-nuclear bomb against Iran if President Donald Trump should decide to renew combat in the war that has hit a deadlock.

Azerbaijan is not independent. For 30 years, it is occupied by a dictator family running the country to misery and stealing its wealth. Corruption, violation of human rights, killing, beating people by police force, arresting young journalists, scientists, and anyone who dare to speak the truth – this is the reality of Azerbaijan. Why she was so rude while asking a question of the shelling on a single church? There must be terrorist hiding on that Church like the ethenic forces were using civil houses as human sheilds. Is she blind who cant see that thousands of mosques raised to ground by these ethenic arminians in 1992. She was a biased interviewer and disrespectful as well. Can she do such questions in the same tone and attitude to macron, rishi sunic or US president joe biden in same tone and behavior. There is a respectful way to ask questions in media while interviewing a PM or President of a country.
