Parkinson’s Law – the more people in a department the more work is then created to justify their presence, way too many employees in the council not needed or useful, and because of workers rights hard to get rid of them. Cut the workforce by at least 20% and you’ll be in the clear.

Get rid of all the old people.

Brum likes to brag about being the biggest local authority in Europe. But had there been several smaller authorities, as with the Manchester conurbation, then different decisions could have been made and this catastrophe wouldn’t have happened. The city needs to be split up into smaller units.

Funniest news of the day now its official, all because of the stupid, greedy twats who sit at their desks all day handing out public money like bags of Poundland sweets to whatever useless scheme or ridiculous court case recipient they can possibly give it to.

Too many thick cooks spoil the broth, the goons in suits will line their pockets then leave like rats abandoning a sinking ship.

Probably so much Diversity Inclusion Equality appointments that anyone with any ability couldn't work for the council…….third world governance is the future of English cities towns and national Government until they realise we were better off without immigration

All public bodies (Councils, NHS etc.) in this country are massive financial black holes where there is no accountability. Inefficient, badly managed at every level, wasteful – this list could go on.

Those thinking of voting Labour at the next General Election take note.

It's about time the government got a grip on council spending…councils need to be much more careful with public money and need to avoid waste. How much money did BCC waste on the Commonwealth games? Dudley Council have just wasted some yellow paint in Lye repainting parking lines which they don't police and everyone ignores anyway…the profusion of lines just looks a mess.

    December 28, 2023 at 9:53 am

Well what do you expect there is so much monies wasted by incompetent people who have not got a clue the UK as nobody leading VOTE for REFORM UK at the next general election

Local Authorities, Nationalised Industries, I've worked for them both over the years. 5 people doing the job of 1 and 10 managers managing them, badly!

As a Birmingham resident for many years, declaring Section 114 due to bankruptcy does not surprise me in the least. It's almost impossible to vote out Labour councils, given the high number of ethnic minorities in our City. They know Labour is a soft touch for anything that smacks of racism or woke inequality issues.

Watch as Will Kensington expresses concern about the state of the UK, arguing that Downing Street is no longer a place of power but has instead become Britain’s most expensive Airbnb.

This comes as Andy Burnham is set to become the UK’s seventh Prime Minister in a decade, with seemingly no one challenging the “King of the North” for the country’s top job.
