Attending meetings and the like isn't saving lives. It's bureaucracy. Some amount of which is seemingly unavoidable, but should be minimized none the less. That response did not actually present evidence to counter the material claims made against him. It's hear say.

So either Dominic Cummings is a liar, or Matt Hancock is.
    Whoever would have thought it?
    Thank heavens nobody cares.
The idea that politicians tell the truth at all is a surprise, but that there is an expectation to sack them if they do is ridiculous.
Reality changes. Yesterday's truth is tomorrow's lies, very often.

Why don’t they give him truth serum and take the main cons to the court of justice. They used fear to deal with the pandemic and forced kids to study on line and they still trying to use Covid to scare rather then help the country out of the biggest disaster we have seen.

I love driving it’s really fun I like the idea of driverless cars and what they bring but I think it will be sad as I feel the next step will be to be full autonomy and there goes the weekend drives and the fun!

The complexity of driver's licensing rests and disqualification points for driverless cars' programming has not been publicly debated. They may avoid human errors, but they will make a whole lot of artificial stupidityerrors. Human drivers here get demerit point accrual, have some infringements which give demerit points which last some years, and if you get too many in that time you lose your licence. What demerit system should apply to a program, should it be over all cars or each car model or each car, should the period a demerit counts for be in years or in 10,000km of car travel or what? Do demerits follow across upgrades, or must each upgrade get its own licence? If upgrades are independent, what is to stop unscrupulous businesses dodging licence loss by issuing an upgrade?.

Regards the cars i do feel the numbers of lives to be saved with this will only be a fraction of the current. I really doubt alpha type drivers will be up for switching to these type of cars.

These foreign immigrant driverless cars should be expulsed from the country, they're taking jobs from hard working British drivers

Re driverless cars: does anyone know what the approach to liability will be? If there's no driver, then obviously the driver can't be held liable in the event of an accident. So who is liable? As I see it, there are only two options: the owner of the vehicle and the manufacturer. If a driverless car causes an accident, it can only be because
    a) it has a design or manufacturing fault (the manufacturer is liable), or
    b) it hasn't been properely maintained (the owner is liable)

I can see problems with each of these options.
Will manufacturers really accept liability for vehicles out on the roads?

It does not matter whether Hancock consciously lied or not. He should have taken responsibility for the lack of testing of those returned to Rest and Care Homes, have done the honourable thing, and resigned.
