naa only took away that initial meeting when george left, they clearly had an issue with yoko speaking on johns behalf. that says a lot, plus it’s just gross throughout the whole doco she’s just there in everyone’s face, no consideration or respect for the other band members. would’ve been nice if they just left out yoko’s ugly devil screeches in part 1 too, but suppose it shows context about her personality. i thought she was misrepresented as a nuisance until the george meeting. but even just her hovering, suffocating presence throughout this shows that had she not done that, it looks most likely john would’ve definitely left her.

Peter Jackson should be this generation's George Lucas, but not tied any way to star wars. Pete can do his own thing and he is such a genius. After all He DID bring us the lord of the rings movie trilogy.

We are all lucky that Peter Jackson was a huge Beatles fan.

Sometimes it’s better not to see how the ‘sausages’ are made. Enjoy the music and don’t try to unravel the glorious secrets of the BEATLES.

It's going to remain a mystery why Michael Lindsay Hoggs original "Let it be" film in 1970 presented the Beatles in such a bad light for most of that film other than the roof top performance. Hogg had hundreds of hours of footage to choose from but for some strange reason neglected the fun times Peter Jackson has shown of the Beatles.

For 4 lads that were so famous and successful they were so humble and were so funny and had great personalities and not to mention the talent in all 4 of them, they are my favorite band of all time and will always be until my time is up

Billy should be introduced as himself not as Paul . He is fifth Beatle and still living fake life with stage name of Paul.

I also found many scenes interesting and useful. For example, it turned out that Paul and George didn't have a conflict, and the fight was invented by Paul in the original cut of the film. But I talk about the film as a finished work of art. I'm missing information and meaning here. Every film, including a documentary, has a specific purpose. At the same time, if you see only a set of details in this project, then you want it to be released in its entirety.

I haven’t understood Jackson’s comments since Day One. While there was fun, there’s also Paul and George having some words, George quitting the band while John can’t be reached and the ‘what do we do now?’ afterward, and there is plenty of passive-aggressiveness that doesn’t go further because of camera awareness. Mixed in, there’s lots of John’s humor, which is great. But for PJ to say this wasn’t a band about to break up is nonsense. They actually discuss getting a “”divorce” in his own film while John remarks, “What’ll happen to the children?” It’s a fantastic documentary but to say it’s all frolicking fun is just wrong.

The media certainly created a negative image of the Beatles at that time , the impression was they hated each other and wanted out , all they like to focus on is some pathetic little incident and blow it out of proportion , I am so glad this came along and told the true story .

Is the world giving up on the US dollar? | The Global Story

Published

on

America’s national debt recently hit a new milestone of $40 trillion. It is estimated that interest payments on the national debt are now the second largest expense in the US government budget, trailing only Social Security. How was the US able to borrow so much and for so long? One answer, according Harvard economist Kenneth Rogoff, is the US dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency.

In this episode, Rogoff – former Chief Economist at the International Monetary Fund – explains how the US dollar came to enjoy this hegemonic status, what being the world’s reserve currency actually means in practice, and why he believes the dollar is now in decline.

Ukraine pleads for German tanks ahead of defence talks – BBC News

Published

on

President Volodymr Zelensky has appealed to Germany to supply Ukraine with tanks, as leaders meet to discuss further aid.

Defence leaders from a number of Nato members are meeting at the US air base in Ramstein, Germany to discuss sending further aid ahead of an anticipated Spring offensive by Russia.

Germany is under increasing pressure from other countries to supply its Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, as the UK prepares to send a dozen Challenger 2 tanks.

“If you have Leopard [tanks], then give them to us, these leopards won’t go through Russia. We’re defending ourselves.”, he told public TV in Germany.
