Robert Halfon supports climate change denial and happily supported Boris through all the lies and parties and billions embezzled on dodgy contracts.

"Debt rose from 65% of GDP in May 2010 to a peak of 86% in September 2017, before falling back to 83% as of March 2019"
    Full fact

Debt has gone up after 12 years of this Government.
It had increased prior to Covid.
The Conservatives are supposed to be wise with money.

Not many country's without debt. Those that do it is measured against there gdp. But many are false figures with worthless bonds keeping the figures better. All efforts should be made to reduce this debt.. but charity starts at home and christ knows we need it. I don't decry the efforts in Ukraine as the sooner this is over the sooner we can all start to get back to normal. But we can't afford economic migrants. They are not refugees. The only help they should receive is a trip home.. on top of all this is the scary thought that it is all orchestrated.

Inflation and low interest rates are already dealing with the national debt. If successive governments including the one with Rishi in it were not so intent on spending money they did not have and burdening the future, we would be in a better position. The man is talking claptrap.

I love how well off politicians who have no financial worries can claim expenses and give themselves pay rises can justify screwing us! Clueless self serving scumbags

Just another fool talking a load of BS! They made the debt and they should be forced to pay for it all , that is what I call accountability… Instead we are made accountable for THEIR actions!

If we won't pay our debt we won't have money for…
Wait.. you can give ALL your money away and still have a lot left ???
    Another money tree forest ???

Cut MP's expenses to help with the national debt 😱 especially the fat SNP one, who claimed £250,000, for just insulting the English.

Don't blame covid and and Russia for our debt, the government made them choices to blow all our money

    National debt ,
who was in charge of our money again , it's not people's fault
But we all left paying it off , while public services are suffering, NHS not fit for purpose, housing millions of illegal immigrants in 4-star

  13. @ancietman

    December 27, 2023 at 10:30 am

We are trillions in debt because of the over reaction to Covid. Yes we should have protected the vulnerable and elderly, we should have followed Covid safety measures but we should have never locked the country down on and off for 2 years.

£36 billion £36,000,000,000 wasted on track and trace that was deemed ineffective
Billion lost to fraud and written off by Rishi
Contract for, mate's , billions in aid send to other countries , supplying Ukraine with all arms billions 50,000,000,000 that we only know off
The government have used all the money on the countries credit card now we have to pay back with interest
And this is all we know about , millions of children in poverty in this country , and we are told to tighten our belts
This is the reality of what's going on
