Ukraine war: EU ministers meet in Kyiv following US funding concerns – BBC News
The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.
In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.
He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.
Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.
Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.
The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.
It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.
The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.
Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.
Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

Russia: First Sarmat intercontinental missiles to be put into combat service soon
The first serial missiles of the Sarmat fifth-generation strategic missile system will be put into combat service in the near future, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
This Saturday (7), Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the progress of implementing the state defense order at the Krasmash company in the Krasnoyarsk region. He inspected the production workshops and the technological process of Sarmat series production.
"The first serial missiles are currently being produced at the factory and will soon be put into combat service," reads a statement from the ministry.

Russian forces, attacking Ukraine's military infrastructure with drones and long-range missiles, eliminated storage sites for Western-made Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles, the Russian Defense Ministry reported this Friday (6).
Between September 29 and October 6, the Russian Armed Forces conducted 14 joint attacks using drones and high-precision weapons against Ukrainian military infrastructure.
Following this, in particular, "storage depots for Himars projectiles, Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles [which is the French version of the British Storm Shadow] were eliminated, as well as explosive manufacturing components for ammunition production", highlights the entity military.

"We see the unity of the EU"..lol, and he said that with a straight face. The EU has been dawdling milkin the Americans for support and it's about dam time they stood on their own two feet. Where's this French army we hear of? Their donations to Ukraine for the defense of Europe have been pathetic.
Given the pathetic excuse for an army the Russians have, how is America even involved? NATO or not, surely the Europeans could have handled this regional affair on their own. But no. They are only ever good at talking & excuses.

US F-16 fighter shoots down Turkish drone in Syria after warning ignored
The United States shot down this Thursday (5) an armed Turkish drone that was operating near its troops in Syria. The incident marks the first time that the US has shot down a Turkish aircraft, its NATO partner.
Two U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity to Reuters, said an F-16 shot down the Turkish drone after the Americans called Turkish military officials several times to warn them they were operating near U.S. ground forces. Authorities said the Turkish drone was believed to be armed.
At the same time, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and a local security source said the US-led coalition shot down a Turkish drone near a base in northeastern Syria.

Borel is indeed not wise, he recently said if Ukraine joined the EU it would take all the funding. Currently 8 countries contribute and 18 receive. And the budget is already not working under the mismanagement of von der Leyen. Ukraine joining would mean the disolution of the EU.

I like how the media keeps acting like these are new issues in US politics, completely ignoring the same headlines from a year ago for similar reasons. Every time the budget is done in the US there are always fights over funding things. Ukraine is now right up there with our education, healthcare, social security, etc. and it’s always the same group of people leading the charge to defund something. Right now, I think it’s important to realize there are still months worths of equipment and supply still to be sent to Ukraine, which is plenty of time for our congress to have their little petty arguments and throw insults around like it’s a middle school cafeteria, and get their act together to pass some kind of spending bill or budget that include more Ukraine aid. I wish the media wasn’t so dramatic in ever assessment they make.

If Ukrainian troops start surrendering to the Russians surely that's a sign that Zelenskyy is sacrificing his people for other reasons. Remember Ukraine was the most corrupt country in Europe.
