Mass immigration and a low wage economy. We get told industries need the immigrants but the immigrants dont stay in the jobs otherwise they wouldnt need more the next year. Clearly immigration is not solving any problems at all!!! The 1.2 million in a year might increase GDP but GDP per capita is down down down its all lies.

ADJUSTMENT to the student scheme – the scheme was totally biased and ridiculous to start with?!!! They also brought in the £26,000 wage cap and again should have KNOWN this would allow MORE migrants into the UK and not 'discovered' it after the fact even these 'new' Conservatives are 'set' in the old mold? We 'suddenly' LET IN in a huge amount of more people in the last few years so why can't we 'suddenly' NOT LET IN a huge amount of people in the following few years – end of! Government knew how many were passing through the legal channels before we did and could have regulated the flow?

How you do it Jacob is to emulate the Australian system with caps on overall numbers and on numbers by skill category; by linking the system to training so it is both possible and cheaper to train your own people and easier to recruit your own. That is completely absent in the UK. Australia's GDP per cap is nearly 50% higher than uk's.
It is so obvious it is hard to believe the Tories cannot understand it.

For cheap labour, offer 1 year short term (extendible to 2 years under certain circumstances) working holiday visa's as they do in NZ/AU. Resident Visa's and Temporary Visa's are totally different things. Temporary workers are the low paid, full time workers should be more highly qualified and paid more.

Rather than pay people fairly, successive governments have opted for cheap foreign labour and businesses have not resisted. Much like they haven't built enough houses and the public hasn't resisted the delusion of wealth that they think inflated house prices represents.
