Israel says it has ‘split Gaza in two’ as Jordan air drops medical supplies – BBC News
The Israeli military has said its troops have reached the coastline in the south of Gaza City, effectively dividing the Strip in two.
UN agencies and other aid groups have called for a ceasefire in a rare joint statement issued overnight.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah of Jordan has said his country’s air force has been able to airdrop urgent medical and pharmaceutical aid to the Jordanian field hospital in the Gaza Strip

Police in London need to move away from criminalising women involved in street sex work in the wake of the disastrous murder case of Simon Levy, officers have told the BBC.
Levy, a convicted sex offender, was left to kill two women and rape another – all of whom were vulnerable and sometimes engaged in street sex work – due to a series of failings, including by the Metropolitan Police.
The BBC was given access to the Met’s new two-officer female team in north London, created in a bid to engage with street sex workers, improve trust, and encourage them to report crimes committed against them.
The team described hearing about endemic levels of male violence against the women they have met.

Four people, including a teacher and children aged 5, 8 and 11, have been killed in a shooting at an elementary school in the US state of Oregon, local police say.
The suspected attacker, a 16-year-old boy, forced his way into the school by firing at locked doors. He was also killed in the shooting.
Emergency services in the city of Bend responded after receiving a call that an armed person had fired at a car before he was seen going into the Silver Rail Elementary School with a long gun.
The suspect was shot dead by an armed member of the community who followed the suspect inside the school, police say.

Iran has increased attacks on shipping in the vital Strait of Hormuz, as it changes tactics to increase pressure on the United States.

Separately, the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen say they have attacked the headquarters of Saudi Arabia’s oil company, Aramco.
Severe food shortages have been reported in Yemen, by the UN, as the fighting continues to escalate.
And there are reports that Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu discussed new joint strikes on Iran, although both have said they don’t favour any attacks before elections in their respective countries.

It's hard for Israel to cease fire now. Israel has not fall short of anything. Sometimes i too am so jealous of God's love & favour for Israel. We just have to bow down & worship His GREATEST favour on Israel & not my nation, of whom l dearly love. But God will have His way for Israel & His own Jewish people, many of whom turned against Him & His own put Him on the Cross to kill Him. However, through such gross & painful death He accomplished something So Big & Eternal that we who are not Israeli has benefited. What a Great Salvation He has accomplished for us who BELIEVED in Him. His love for me is beyond human reasoning. I have it all. This is the true meaning of Christmas. One died so that whoever believes IN HIM will not perish but have Everlasting life. John 3:16. The leader of Harmas & his soldiers must realise that many innocent ones did not die in vain. Every single one, even babies in conception, in their mothers' womb, that was ripped opened & killed, God will raise them all at His Imminent return. Take His Word seriously. God IS NOT Mocked.
