Israel says Hamas truce will be extended for seventh day | BBC News
Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend the temporary truce in Gaza, just minutes before it was due to expire.
The pause in fighting was due to expire at 05:00 GMT, but the Israeli military said it will be extended “in light of the mediators’ efforts to continue the process of releasing the hostages”.
On Wednesday evening, another 16 hostages taken captive by Hamas were released, as were 30 Palestinians.
It is thought that around 145 people remain in captivity.

Trump threatens to bomb Oman and demands Iran surrender | BBC News
President Donald Trump has threatened to bomb Oman – a US ally – if it “gets in the way” of his administration’s own talks with Iran, Fox News reports.
The US and Oman have separately been negotiating with Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway that is vital to the global economy. It has been largely closed for nearly six months during the US-Iran war.
The threat came after the 60-day Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two sides expired. The future of talks between the US and Iran is now unclear.
