Best of the haute couture fashion shows: spring/summer 2021 | Bazaar UK
From Chanel’s beautiful couture wedding (complete with celebrity guests including Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard), to Kim Jones’ star-studded debut at Fendi (with everyone from Kate Moss and Demi Moore to Cara Delevingne and Bella Hadid on the catwalk), and Dior’s beautiful tribute to tarot cards in the form of an enchanting fashion film, there was a lot to love from the spring/summer 2021 couture shows.
It has been almost a year since the Covid-19 pandemic started to cause disruptions for the entire world – and the virus continues to play havoc with scheduled fashion events, including catwalk shows, which have been pushed back, turned digital and in some instances cancelled altogether over the past 12 months, and this pattern is not dying down just yet.
Couture week took place this week in Paris and, while some physical fashion shows were held, all were done behind closed doors in accordance with the current rules in place in France. Meanwhile, other brands chose to once again present their collections digitally instead, either via fashion films or shoots, or both.
