You need to build 700k homes a year where is the space to build all these homes with the migration in the uk as lazy Brits won’t work. Also you will have to import all the people to build these homes as again lazy Brits won’t work so this means you need to build even more homes. So no

Building new houses for people that can afford to buy is wrong there’s people that have been waiting a long time for a council house but because they don’t build them anymore no one can get one ..more an more private buy houses are popping up on land we was told couldn’t be built on because it’s green belt but if it’s the right price it’s for sale ..come to Cheshire the problems massive

This administration is putting many families into difficult situations. A lot of people are financially struggling to live, put a roof over their head and put food on the table. You’ve helped me a lot Ms Lozier White, imagine investing $2,500 and receiving $18,400.

No it doesn't matter about building homes
    If they did
The British People won't get them

Of house building is drip-fed, the wealthy can continue to sell these properties at inflated prices, as this would control who gets to buy, and the expectation would be to only sell to the highest bidder, since they are controlling the flow of how many new houses exist.

Britain needs to stop letting all these Eastern European people into the country and then we wouldn’t be in this situation and that’s fact.

    There are three options:
    1. Expand outward. Cities increase in area.
    2. Expand inward. Cities become more dense.
    3. Catastrophic population collapse. People cannot afford new housing, don't make more people, and old people have no one to support them as they retire, meaning that important jobs are not filled and society deteriorates, becomes poorer.

I don’t think Britain needs to build more at all – living in London the amount of new builds that are semi full or near empty when there’s a housing crisis is ridiculous- what the government needs to stop doing is giving money to these private firms that build these flats and only offer ‘shared ownership’ for potential buyers and also only have to give one or two homes to council tenants under ‘social housing’ to meet the criteria for buying up land in that area -it is so corrupt -if it’s like this in London a busy capital
I can only imagine the amount of empty new builds out of London

With almost open door immigration we will always be playing catch-up, at the same time more concrete, less greenery, more floods, this is a future disaster in the making for the future.

  20. @motey99

    December 23, 2023 at 5:04 am

What we desperately need to do more than anything is to reduce the population in this country we have almost a third the population of the United States on a piece of land smaller than michigan it's an absolute disaster

  21. @bicelisGeopolitics

What about minihouses or 3D printing being widely legal?

  22. @galactic904

    December 23, 2023 at 5:04 am

Doug Ford, the Ontario provincial Minister in Canada wants to give the green light to build inside the green belt in the south of Ontario. I've been against it, but now it makes a lot more sense. However, the wildlife, bugs and small animals in the Green Belt will suffer, but we badly need 10's of thousand more houses, it's a crisis here too, and those new houses will be 100% used as homes and not the excess houses that seems to be in France. It's a strange queer political world we live in.

British women are having 1.5 kids on average. Let the population decline rather than backfill in order to reduce housing pressure.

  27. @user-fk9mo2ld6w

    December 23, 2023 at 5:04 am

Net migration hit a record 606 thousand in 2022. That's more than the entire population of Manchester. If that continues then we need to build a lot more houses.

  28. @chazjankel1

    December 23, 2023 at 5:04 am

Is no one going to mention that net immigration is like 600000 at the moment, this is literally what is causing the housing crisis, immigrants don’t live in thin air they need houses too

  29. @johnross2924

    December 23, 2023 at 5:04 am

We don't want our countryside built all over. close the borders and stop the population increasing year after year!!

  30. @alex_zetsu

    December 23, 2023 at 5:04 am

If British women are only having 1.8 children on average, can't you just ignore the problem and come back 3 decades later to find the problem solved?

  31. @languist

    December 23, 2023 at 5:04 am

Absolutely, because lack of housing leads to all modern problems, including poverty and crime.

  32. @vonniofdoom5590

You build any more houses you won’t have any land for agriculture lol
