America Ferrera: Life Lessons | Bazaar UK
If you’re yet to see the Barbie movie, then we won’t spoil it for you – but those who have will know that there’s a pivotal scene involving America Ferrera’s character, Gloria; one which has since spawned countless social-media tributes and online think pieces. It’s reported that Ferrera and the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, rehearsed and workshopped the speech almost 50 times, bringing their fellow cast members to tears, so important was it to nail the messaging and make an impact on the audience.
But the woman behind the character is just as inspiring in real life. Ferrera, who is our summer digital cover star, has never held herself back, telling us she’s always felt “pulled towards speaking up” and that a need to fight for others has always been deeply rooted within her.

can’t stand america ferrara. the fact that she single handedly put the entire cast and crew of superstore out of work is so self- centered. she had a kid (like millions to people do a day) and therefore the entire world had to stop and revolve around her so she quit. Obviously since she was one of the main characters in the show it quickly got canceled. any one else would be so grateful to have work on a successful sitcom. typical self-obsessed Aries.
