Oh come off it! Interest rates around the world were going up but Truss managed to put a rocket into ours! Not to mention mortgage rates! These guests are pure establishment. The very same one that Truss was acting on behalf of. They do not serve the people they serve the rich.

Liz Truss has NO IDEA about economics,NO IDEA how to grow the economy in any way shape or form. The Conservatives are completely clueless and couldn't run a bath.

What we have now is a total cluster fk as a government.

  13. @Paul-li9hq

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

    Are you effin insane?
Liz Lack-of-Trust pledged that the 45% higher rate of income tax would be abolished. There was a promise to reduce the basic rate of income tax to 19p in the pound by April 2023, meaning 31 million people would be better off by an average of £170 a year…
So sure the elite one percent would be better off: but the average common person? £170 a year! And they wouldn't get it until the following year anyway….
What good is a 170 pounds? When you're mortgage has virtually doubled and your utility bills have maybe more than doubled? Thousands were needed, not 170, to cover the disaster she orchestrated.
The estimates says that her disastrous minibudget cost the country £30billion.
Praising her is like saying the war in Ukraine is the best thing to happen to common Ukrainian people!!!

  14. @siam1425

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

You've got to convince the markets how your going to fund tax cuts. Such a basic point. Liz was a fool.

  15. @margaretallen6482

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

And is it true her honors list will be published on last day of parliment before summer resse

  16. @andycapp8843

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

The Truss plan was basic economics. If you put money into the pockets of the population, they will spend it. Every transaction sends the Vat element back to the Treasury…..pdq. This in turn increases profits to sellers and tax goes back to the Treasury at the end of the financial year. It increases the manufacture of the goods to sell and jobs are created, PAYE and NI goes back to the Treasury. Manufacturers profits increase and tax goes back etc. Money from investors injected into manufacturing and expansion of the business….tax goes back etc.
The cogs in the gearbox go round and round and this in turn propels the vehicle forward and success is achieved.
It is a great shame Liz was unable to put her plans across in a determined manner and her downfall was instigated by a snake oil salesman and his allies which is where we are right now.
Liz wasn’t given a chance, squeezed light an overripe grape in a vineyard by a hydraulic press manned by men of wealth who have never had to worry about paying a bill.
Her plan would have provided a feel good factor to the populace and this in turn may have encouraged a blue cross on the ballot papers in 2024.
I will not be voting Tory until this incompetent and deceitful bunch are replaced by true Conservatives. Now in my twilight years, doubt if I will see that happen.

  17. @johntaylor9899

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

Liz was right. She was ousted out because the WEF/Globalists wanted someone they could control, hence Sunak and Hunt

  18. @johnblowes600

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

    Yes she was

  19. @andrewdutton1003

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

We wouldn't mind paying higher taxes if we saw the results and had a better standard of living & public services worked!
But we have the worst of all worlds – high tax, poor services, and a government who's mission is to destroy our society, culture and traditions, and let everyone in the world come in with far too high legal and illegal immigration!
The conservatives are done for – but Labour will be even worst :o(

  20. @rogerbritton2106

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

20 billion a month and that arsehole is sending money to Ukraine, the most corrupt country on the planet and our own government want the people to believe they aren't corrupt….. They aren't really painting a picture of trust… Get them out, get labour out, the country needs reform and it ain't going to happen with either of the 2 main ones…

  21. @bye-72

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

The tax threshold needs to be increased.
I’m self employed, got a big tax bill at end off the month.

  22. @williamkennedy5492

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

The high tax is just one more reason not to vote tory. What a useless bunch they are !

  23. @davidgosling2381

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

Liz was right, Sunak the snake and Jeremy the *unt didn't want her to succeed. So they backstabbed their way to power.

  24. @matthewcook9404

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

That’s the Conservative “the economy is safe in our hands” Party. Shocked, I tell you. Shocked. Said no one over the age of 5. 😂

  25. @kennethvenezia4400

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

No, she wasn't right, and she is stupid. Torries can rally around Lettuce all they want. They are going to get clobbered in the next election.

  26. @neuralwarp

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

They've got to stop giving our money away, that's what they've got to do. Get back the defrauded CV funds. Keep utilities and transport franchises in Britain. Shred the BBC. Discipline the banks. Sack the regulators and top civil servants. Close do-nothing departments, eg Trade, Energy, MAFF, Education. Reform police, NHS, local councils, Parliament, Courts.

  27. @aaronjamesmoore757

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

    Sunak is a smooth operator

  28. @rockerjim8045

  30. @popculture70

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

That "mini budget" was such a stupid naive move by Truss. When you're going to make a big change like that, you can't rush it. You have to do the PR first.

  31. @nigelalanwood6781

    December 21, 2023 at 2:42 pm

Will we still be able to afford to pay for the war in Ukraine
    Let's get our priorities right.
