Viola Davis shares what she’s learnt about style, beauty, career & confidence | Life Lessons
“The worst thing that anyone has ever said to me is constantly telling me that I’m not pretty,” Viola Davis tells us in the latest episode of our Life Lessons series. “Even though, I’m good, I really am,” she adds, holding her hands up. “I feel very confident with myself.”
She pauses, before continuing: “But when you say that to someone, I don’t think that people understand how hurtful it is. And how not important it is. When you say that to someone, the unspoken word is that you’re not worthy â because people put a value on prettiness and beauty, so if you don’t have it it’s like you have no value.”

i remember working at a nursing home, it was i think maybe my third or forth day there and it was a friday most of the staff did not show up for work, i went into one of the patients room and she reached up and held my hand, and asked me is it okay, not knowing that she was asking me for permission to let go. i said yes it is okay. your in good hands, and she breathed in and died holding my hand.
