“The worst thing that anyone has ever said to me is constantly telling me that I’m not pretty,” Viola Davis tells us in the latest episode of our Life Lessons series. “Even though, I’m good, I really am,” she adds, holding her hands up. “I feel very confident with myself.”
She pauses, before continuing: “But when you say that to someone, I don’t think that people understand how hurtful it is. And how not important it is. When you say that to someone, the unspoken word is that you’re not worthy – because people put a value on prettiness and beauty, so if you don’t have it it’s like you have no value.”

LOL, Y'all need to check yourself. This woman sees herself as some sort of an icon, comparing herself to people like Naomi and Denzel, wake up!!! This woman cannot act at all and she is not attractive at all. You see too much of yourself in her and need to wake up. I LOVE HER!!! I was VERY shocked about her first words in the interview. She s that kind of woman, if I was a child, I’d say „I wanna be her , when I go grow up“ that’s how much I look up to her. I love her. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Charismatic. Wise. Smart. Intelligent. And GORGEOUS again.

Whoever told Viola she isn't pretty was wrong on so many levels. I'm an artist and every angle under every light I've seen her in with makeup or without , I see so much beauty and intelligence. She is a real treasure.

i remember working at a nursing home, it was i think maybe my third or forth day there and it was a friday most of the staff did not show up for work, i went into one of the patients room and she reached up and held my hand, and asked me is it okay, not knowing that she was asking me for permission to let go. i said yes it is okay. your in good hands, and she breathed in and died holding my hand.

She earned her EGOT… She feels comfortable in herself and she has her OWN ideal and her OWN identity of Mrs. Davis… Wonderful…ppl really can’t understand that concept about Black women… I think; we just live and just be but ppl don’t understand, embrace or respect… nor do ppl wanna take the time, energy, or engage… ppl just wanna mold Black Women into their theory of a woman…. Ms. Davis is fantastic and I too enjoy her pov(s)… I can’t get enough of her story about Julius… He really holds her down… They are an amazing exceptional couple… I can understand about her anxiety…
