Israeli military prepare as war cabinet considers ground offensive in Gaza – BBC News
The Israeli military has said no decision has been made yet on any ground incursion into Gaza but that they are preparing for it.
Hundreds of thousands of troops have massed near the Gaza border and are preparing for the order to move in.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has established a national emergency unity government alongside opposition leader Benny Gantz who said it was “a time for war”.
Part of the calculations being made by the new Israeli war cabinet must be the fate of the hostages taken by Hamas into Gaza.
Israel has said the siege of Gaza will not end until Israeli hostages are released.

One person has been killed and 11 injured in a second strike on the international airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh, officials have said.
A Saudi military spokesman said a projectile had hit King Khalid International Airport on Sunday, causing a fire in a passenger hall. Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority said in a statement that one person, a Pakistani resident, had been killed in the attack.
It comes a day after a strike on the same airport killed 13 people and injured 308 others.
The Houthis in Yemen said they were behind them and warned airlines and passengers against using Saudi Arabian airports and airspace.

One in every six cigarettes smoked in the UK is counterfeit.
In this episode of BBC News Behind the Investigation, Melanie Stewart-Smith talks to File on 4 Investigates reporter Jane Deith about how the team uncovered the global criminal networks flooding Britain with fake cigarettes, and the human cost behind every cheap pack.
Jane explains how the team traced the supply chain from secret factories in Belgium to corner shops, minimarts and cash and carries across the UK.
We also look at why gangs are moving from drugs to fake cigarettes. A former senior Europol official says they now make as much money as they do from drugs, with far lower prison sentences if they’re caught. The profits are being used to fund weapons, people smuggling and even terrorism.

Where is the damned international community? Why is the world not doing anything about what is happening in Gaza? The Israeli occupation is committing the ugliest massacre of the 21st century against defenseless citizens.
They are trapped without food, water and electricity. Children, the sick and the wounded are dying due to the lack of medicine and electricity, not to mention the bombing by planes and missiles. Everyone who is responsible for this catastrophic situation must be held accountable as they are war criminals.

If Gaza people leave the urban area and stay in an distant open field, they’re safe. The Israeli people were hunted down given the same situation…. Sorry, terrible thing on both parts. The only thing that Gaza people could do to stop all this at any time is to revolt agains Hamas, and yet they don’t do this, they don’t leave the city and continue to stay there perfectly knowing the bombs and quite probably the troops will come…. It is a very bad situation, because the innocent people losing families and friends to this bombardment will be keen in revenge and most probably end up joining Hamas or some other group…. Yet if Israel were to not do anything, it would have been attacked again. Lose-lose for everyone in every outcome at this point… 😢

"The 11 rules to know before watching the evening news on usa or Western news channel in general are the rules that news presenters must adhere to.

My mother always said, 2 wrongs dont make a right. What Hamas did was unbelieably evil, and any terrorist act is evil. But Isreal needs to stop the bombing. The way the population live in that tiny strip is awful. Feel heartbroken for both sides.
