That argument works against her "he couldn't have hurt that many students with a knife." So if guns were somehow outlawed, and an another crazed student kills, say, 8 students, based on this argument, banning knives would be the next course of action…because "he couldn't have hurt that many students with his bare hands". therein lies the fallacy of the argument. The weapon used, whatever it it may be is only the tool, not the problem, fix the problem… guns aren't the problem.

nobody wants to strip Americans of all their guns – all these people want is a better background check and to have automatic/semi automatic guns banned/more difficult to get hold of. If you really value an outdated, dangerous, corrupted law over innocent lives then there truly is something wrong with you. I am all for you guys having your precious pieces of metal, so long as they are appropriately licensed, used with caution and are not capable of the destruction that occurs far too often in your ‘great’ country.

  25. @christinas.4342

Mass shootings are caused not by the availability of guns but by narcissism. Guns have been legal in the US for two centuries yet mass murders like this are a second half of the 20the century problem. The liberals should be ashamed because they've helped create an atomized heartless self-obsessed society, where people think the world revolves around them and should be punished if it fails to keep them happy and satisfied at all times. But unbridled consumer capitalism is to blame too.

  27. @dustintacohands1107

    December 20, 2023 at 5:53 pm

all the things killing people in this country and this is the thing that gets brought up…. you really think more gun control will change this situation. its wont why because most deaths due to guns are handguns and most of those are suicides. Are you going to take away every gun? what happens when people get them off the black market anyways. Guns are like beer in this country you will never get rid of it and trying to will only cause new problems just like trying to ban beer did. People in this country will have weapons weather you like it or not the choice you have to make is how do you want them to get those guns.

The second amendment is the most important guarantee in our great Constitution. Solely added so the people will keep more power than the government.
It assures the government can not try a socialist/ communist takeover of the people. The second amendment keeps us all free. Always remember: Germany made certain to take guns from their citizens just before they started cooking them.
Battle the mental illness and quit selling graphic killing video games to children. Civil War must happen if government goes after your guns.

Hawk Fire wildfire in Nevada expected to rage for another two days, say officials | BBC News

Published

on

US fire crews have reported progress in their efforts to tackle a large wildfire menacing the city of Reno, Nevada – saying the blaze is about a quarter contained.

The Hawk Fire, which began on Saturday, had spread over 15,000 acres by Monday, firefighters said.

Evacuation orders remain in place for 23,000 people, though other residents have now been allowed to return to their homes. Tens of thousands of other residents have been told to be ready to leave at any moment.

Officials are concerned that gusts of wind could drive the flames towards more homes. Unfavourable weather conditions are forecast for the next two days, meaning the fire could continue to burn during that timeframe.
