Violence against women and girls in Iraq is widespread, but under reported, according to UN experts.
For incidents of sexual violence, there are no official figures. Human rights campaigners in the country say more needs to be done to protect women who speak out. They say threats and incitement against survivors should be investigated as crimes.
BBC Arabic’s Sally Nabil has been to Baghdad to speak to women who say family and social pressures discouraged them from speaking out, but have now decided to break their silence.

Floods have hit Australia’s largest city Sydney for the third time this year prompting evacuation warnings to 50,000 people.
Parts of Sydney have received about eight months of rain in four days.
Roads have been cut off, some houses are under water and thousands have been left without power.
Widespread flooding across Australia – driven by a La Niña weather pattern – has killed more than 20 people this year, many in New South Wales.

Saudia Arabia vows ‘serious response’ to Houthi attacks and other stories | Global News Podcast
The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have continued to fire missiles towards Saudi Arabia, after a number of deadly attacks on Riyadh’s main international airport.
Almost all flights to and from the airport have been suspended. The Houthis say their actions are in retaliation for “brutal Saudi aggression” against areas they control in western Yemen.
Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman told a conference in Riyadh that the seriousness of the attacks required an equally serious response from the Kingdom.

That argument works against her "he couldn't have hurt that many students with a knife." So if guns were somehow outlawed, and an another crazed student kills, say, 8 students, based on this argument, banning knives would be the next course of action…because "he couldn't have hurt that many students with his bare hands". therein lies the fallacy of the argument. The weapon used, whatever it it may be is only the tool, not the problem, fix the problem… guns aren't the problem.

nobody wants to strip Americans of all their guns – all these people want is a better background check and to have automatic/semi automatic guns banned/more difficult to get hold of. If you really value an outdated, dangerous, corrupted law over innocent lives then there truly is something wrong with you. Mass shootings are caused not by the availability of guns but by narcissism. Guns have been legal in the US for two centuries yet mass murders like this are a second half of the 20the century problem. The liberals should be ashamed because they've helped create an atomized heartless self-obsessed society, where people think the world revolves around them and should be punished if it fails to keep them happy and satisfied at all times. The second amendment is the most important guarantee in our great Constitution. Solely added so the people will keep more power than the government.
It assures the government can not try a socialist/ communist takeover of the people. The second amendment keeps us all free. Always remember: Germany made certain to take guns from their citizens just before they started cooking them.
