Israel confirm forces operating around Gaza hospitals – BBC News
Explosions have been reported at or near several hospitals in the north of the Gaza Strip throughout Friday.
In one instance, footage showed tanks firing near a children’s hospital, Al-Rantisi, inside of which civilians say they are trapped.
Israel has confirmed its military is operating close to Al-Shifa, the biggest hospital in Gaza City, where explosions and shelling have been heard

Today, an undercover BBC investigation has found evidence of law firms and legal advisors helping migrants pretend to be gay to get asylum.
Migrants were advised to take staged photos at nightclubs, attend LGBT events and to go to GPs pretending to be depressed to obtain medical evidence to support their cases.
Adam and Chris are joined by BBC politics investigation correspondent Billy Kenber, who uncovered the story. In response to our findings, the Home Office said: “Anyone found trying to exploit the system will face the full force of the law, including removal from the UK.”

Hungary has seen a historic election result. After 16 years in power, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been ousted from the role.
Péter Magyar’s Tisza party won a comfortable “super majority” with two-thirds of the seats in parliament, meaning the party will be able to change the constitution.
The defeat will mean a huge reset of Hungary’s relationships with the rest of the world.
Orbán has been a close partner of both US President Donald Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and he had become a big thorn in the side of the EU and Ukraine.
The BBC’s Europe Editor Katya Adler was in Budapest as the election unfolded, and takes you with her in this video as a historic defeat takes place.

Americans are reacting to President Donald Trump’s escalating feud with Pope Leo XIV and the backlash surrounding an AI-generated image depicting the president as a Jesus-like figure, which has since been deleted.
On Monday, Trump posted a lengthy Truth Social message attacking the pontiff, who has been a vocal critic of the US and Israeli military operations in Iran.
He criticised the Pope, calling him “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy”.
The Pope said on Monday that he has “no fear” of the Trump administration or “speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do”.

Israeli authorities must be held accountable for committing the crime of apartheid against Palestinians, Amnesty International said today in a damning new report. The investigation details how Israel enforces a system of oppression and domination against the Palestinian people wherever it has control over their rights. This includes Palestinians living in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), as well as displaced refugees in other countries.
The comprehensive report, Israel’s Apartheid against Palestinians: Cruel System of Domination and Crime against Humanity, sets out how massive seizures of Palestinian land and property, unlawful killings, forcible transfer, drastic movement restrictions, and the denial of nationality and citizenship to Palestinians are all components of a system which amounts to apartheid under international law. This system is maintained by violations which Amnesty International found to constitute apartheid as a crime against humanity, as defined in the Rome Statute and Apartheid Convention.
Amnesty International is calling on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to consider the crime of apartheid in its current investigation in the OPT and calls on all states to exercise universal jurisdiction to bring perpetrators of apartheid crimes to justice.
Our report reveals the true extent of Israel’s apartheid regime. Whether they live in Gaza, East Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank, or Israel itself, Palestinians are treated as an inferior racial group and systematically deprived of their rights. We found that Israel’s cruel policies of segregation, dispossession and exclusion across all territories under its control clearly amount to apartheid. The international community has an obligation to act………

Anyone could attack a place where innocent people dwell and claim they were attacking a terror base, if this happened would the journalists brush it off as facts? I am pretty sure the blowback will be biblical if not our local areas as to prove the ridiculous reaction, for instance if a local establishment was attacked with claims it was an Hamas base would it be acceptable? If not why do you believe a foreign power who has been caught lying numerous times while a local person said they did what they did for the same reason?
