Problem is they can check anyone's accounts & put it down to a mistake,it's all wrong, the government should deal with fraudulent claims, stop cutting corners by invading our privacy

I wonder, is this a way of them trying to see who isn't paying the TV tax?

Surely its only legal to spy on someone's bank account if the have good reason to suspect that a person is doing something illegal? They must have to have a warrant to look at a bank account. I wonder if they are going to look into the bank accounts of the rich to see exactly where their cash comes from. Big Brother isn't coming, its here!!!

Write to your bank and ask them NOT to supply any information to DWP. I would also suggest if they look at bank statements data is likely to breach GDPR.

Not before time. For large purchases like a car they should have to include their NI number.

Why is this government picking on the poorest of the poor? Why aren't they looking into the accounts of millionaires who fund BLM & Just Stop Oil. And it would also be good to look in the PMs account 😮

While i think people on benefits should be looked at in terms of how they spend their money ( i say ' their ' which is blt quite right as its not their money to start with ) as many clamints probably have money they have no right to. But yes the tracking of how people spend their money probably is not wise.
