US President Joe Biden has described Hamas’ attack on Israel as an “act of sheer evil”, accusing the group of “butchering” people.
Details of a massacre in an Israeli village where fighting continued until Tuesday morning have emerged.
Hamas earlier launched a fresh rocket attack on southern Israel after warning people to leave the city of Ashkelon.
The death toll in Israel has reached 1,000 and more than 800 people have been killed in Gaza.

China has vowed to protect its interests after the US announced plans to widen economic sanctions against Iran and its trading partners, which include Beijing.

Their return to power brought relative peace to the country after two decades of war.
But Afghan women have been erased from public life. Girls are banned from school from the age of 12, and aren’t allowed to go to university.

Is the uk government going to put sanctions on Israel and strip Israel rich of money the same as they did to russians.. We are not a state of the USA, we are a sovereign nation and the uk government should make up their own minds and not be afraid of what the USA says.. If a country is breaking the law in war, they should pay regatdless

It's rumored an international peace keeping force will be sent to Gaza and the United Nations would be granted “temporary governance” of Gaza. So what we may be seeing is the rise of a new global governance where UN Technocrats takeover failed states to begin with then eventually all governments are ruled by UN aka One World Government predicted in Bible. Same model could be applied to Haiti where UN Technocrats takeover government because they will say "See UN taking over failed state like Gaza has brought peace so let's apply same UN government model world wide to bring peace to the world "

Instead of continual drivel on their plight, how about getting back to the serious situation in the Ukraine—- something the bbc have studiously ignored for three weeks— a war that is going to affect us far more than the Middle East.

Interesting the butchered bodies from the Hamas attack are too graphic to show in the news but Israel blowing up buildings and Gazans holding dead kids is not, this is an imbalance Hamas may have anticipated, anyway it is to their advantage. Being told there was dismembering means nothing to most people, they have to see it, so Israel looks worse visually. (I'm not really for either side, no one should have exclusive territory based on their ethnicity, that's what both want, they must share or have nothing ).
