This looks exactly like the potato soup my grandma taught me…except the leek. With the price of bacon I substitute packaged bacon bits. I usually make mine with jalapeño and cheddar corn bread.

Today I made this awesome soup, and I slow cooked it in my Ninja slow cooker/pressure cooker for 4 hours. Added back to my other pot, brought it to a boil and thickened it plus added a 1½ C of cheddar cheese.

This is one of the tastiest soups I've made in quite sometime… Thanks Chef Ramsay for the recipe.

    I don’t believe it’s that great; unless he brings me a bowl.😏

Piss off Gordon. Just piss off.😊

Thrifty?? The only thrifty thing about this recipe is the two bay leaves that apparently grow like weeds in middle-class driveways. I could eat Chinese like a king for a week for the same price as this shite soup.

Whenever I make the soup there is never enough left over. Everybody in the house eats it all up and I have nothing left lol. But something I do add to this is a little bit of honey. It gives it an extra sweetness that really works great

Is this recipe in the Gordon Ramsay's home cooking book because I own it

Top with green onion. Don't have any leeks…looks great !!

Made this today minus the cheese scones, not calling them "biscuits", and it got rave reviews from the whole family. Used a dash of single cream instead of milk and because I couldn't find creamed corn anywhere I added a little butter and more sweetcorn

Forgot the saffron to make this truly a budget soup

"A touch of milk" = half a liter of milk

    The Ramsey system is weird

As an Aussie seeing those things and him saying biscuits, triggers me. But the soup looks good, shall def try that.

Anyone struggling to find canned cream corn in the UK – go to an Asian supermarket. Its what they use for sweetcorn soup in Chinese restaurants.

yeah, all right, you can add wayyyy too much stock and just boil it down for flavor. This guy is a drama queen.

Gordon: you can find bay leafs on your neighbours garden.
Me: I can only see weeds and dog poo in my neighbour's garden's.

  35. @MikeHeller

    January 5, 2024 at 1:34 pm

I’m making this soup tonight, just simmering now. Wow, it’s great and super easy. I’m pairing it with some fresh rosemary potato crusty bread. Sooo good.

I made the soup with those exact ingredients, it was amazing.
