Families pay tribute to Titanic sub victims – BBC News

Published

on

The families of the five men who died in the Titanic submersible implosion have been paying tribute to their lost loved ones.

Relatives of the renowned French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet said he will be remembered as “one of the greatest deep-sea explorers in modern history”.

The family of one of Pakistan’s richest men, Shahzada Dawood, who was onboard the sub with his 19-year-old son Sulaiman, said they were “overwhelmed with the love and support that [the search and rescue mission] received and grateful to the those who showcased the best in humanity.”

The family of British billionaire explorer Hamish Harding have said: “If we can take any small consolation from this tragedy, it’s that we lost him doing what he loved.”

Stockton Rush was the chief executive of OceanGate, the firm that operates the Titanic voyages on the lost submersible. In a BBC documentary, he once said, “I read an article that said there are three words in the English language that are known throughout the planet. And that’s “Coca-Cola”, “God”, and “Titanic”.”

Here's my prayer for those 5 men who died on the Titanic Submarine:

"Dear God & Jesus Christ thank you for saving those 5 innocent men that died on the Titanic Sub by Catastrophic Implosion (which they didn't deserve to die), but they deserve to live in a safe, beautiful & peaceful paradise called heaven, where there's no pain, no suffering & where they deserve to know u. Please forgive them for what they've sinned & please take care of them for their family, friends & their loved ones cuz you're their only hope & we trust you we believe in u & we love u" Amen. 🙏🏻✝️⚓️

James Camron actually pointed this out in the movie. There weren't enough lifeboats on The Titanic and they were able to hold 30 people on each lifeboat but people as little as 10 to 15 were place on those boats instead of the full 30 which could have saved several hundred more people on there.

The can tin can submergible was crushed by the forces of gravity by the depth of the open water 💦 and ocean pressures beyond hell.???The implosion was due to pressure and serious damage to communications infrastructures lacking sufficient information about how the vessel 🚢 was destroyed.????😂😢😮😅.How can the recovery ❤️‍🩹 if the bodies be recovered.????.???😮😅😊😢😂No more tourist to the titanic .????😂😢😮😅.????.

    So risky and dangerous.
They should not have even attempted this.
Millions of pounds of pressure on a tiny capsule.
Although it's too late, I could have saved them
if I had a way to reach the search team.
They should have had multiple safety,
    rescue, and escape features installed.

The incident of May 09, 2023 was all orchestrated to crush PTI. And the mastermind of this incident is Army Chief Asim Munir, Chor Shahbaz, Rana Sanaullah, Nawaz Sharif and Zardari Gong. If not, why is the army not investigating the incident clearly? Why do you want to judge at gunpoint? Because a transparent investigation will reveal the true identity of the masterminds and perpetrators. People are not as stupid as these corrupt generals and corrupt politicians think people are. Understand everything. And this practice of Pakistan Army is very old. They always fight against their own people. But they could never win. As lost in the then East Pakistan. The Pakistan Army had to leave with a kick in the ass. Even then the corrupt generals will not be fooled. All these corrupt generals will be punished by Allah in this world and in the Hereafter there is a painful punishment.

  36. @CatholicForever1

    January 4, 2024 at 1:49 pm

Question…if the US navy heard sounds consistent with implosion on Sunday, why did they not search for Titan debris around the Titanic right then and there? Why did they search a huge area for 4 days, only to find debris only 1600 feet from the Titanic four days later? I mean, I'm pretty sure if they dedicated only one remote operated vehicle to searching for debris around the Titanic while letting the others search the rest of the ocean, they would have likely found the remains of the Titan by like Monday!!

The women exposing abuse in Iraq | BBC News

Published

on

This video contains distressing details.

Violence against women and girls in Iraq is widespread, but under reported, according to UN experts.

For incidents of sexual violence, there are no official figures. Human rights campaigners in the country say more needs to be done to protect women who speak out. They say threats and incitement against survivors should be investigated as crimes.

BBC Arabic’s Sally Nabil has been to Baghdad to speak to women who say family and social pressures discouraged them from speaking out, but have now decided to break their silence.

Saudia Arabia vows ‘serious response’ to Houthi attacks and other stories | Global News Podcast

Published

The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have continued to fire missiles towards Saudi Arabia, after a number of deadly attacks on Riyadh’s main international airport.

Almost all flights to and from the airport have been suspended. The Houthis say their actions are in retaliation for “brutal Saudi aggression” against areas they control in western Yemen.

Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman told a conference in Riyadh that the seriousness of the attacks required an equally serious response from the Kingdom.
