I dislike this whole system but if you keep building houses and filling them with people without the infrastructure in place this is what happens. As for the actual appointment it seems any child with a snotty nose gets an appointment when others can't. Maybe because the parents have the time to ring at 8am whilst others need to work to pay their taxes so these hypochondriac parents have the service available.

No amount of money is going to change how the government caused this problem by locking people in their houses when they were FIT AN HEALTHY

I remember 80s when he had a smaller population, probably 11 million less people live here! You could get a doctor’s appointment within two days you could get a doctor face-to-face if emergency a doctor, not a nurse ! And you could get in any school of choice, you could get and move from council house to council house within months now you have to wait five yr

Even two weeks is craziness you know you can have a little symptoms that wouldn’t be classed as urgent emergency et cetera and it be something very very life-threatening, but you would have to wait two weeks for those symptoms to progress and probably take your life

GP surgery receptionists out number GPs themselves! So, obviously, something wrong and it is a mess! Imagine going to a car mechanics and there r 5 men working on the shop floor fixing cars, and 6 women working in the office? An analogy would be an office building where handy men out number the office workers!

Covid seriously threw a spanner in the works with stopping face to face visits. Trouble is it hasn't changed back! Can't ring the surgery till 8.30 and at 8.30 and 20 seconds you're number 40 with no appointments left!!

There isn't enough Doctors! The Government make one empty promise after another and they expect the public to fall for it everytime! The NHS is in the state it's in. Not because of the NHS. But because of the Government. CUT, CUT, CUT!!

My surgery has just started using "callback" so your not in a queue for an hour and by the way whose getting that money from being on the phone and waiting…surgery must be getting a kick back somehow…it's a con..I've rang from outside the surgery and been placed 30 in a queue and the surgery receptionist storm troopers were literally sitting chatting to each other sipping their tea.

I have to admit. My local doctors gave me an appointment the same day and the surgery had only two people in it. Wasn’t a doctor I saw though. Seemed to be a nurse. But I was happy with the service. They have improved these past few months.

No point phoning. You have to get past the snotty nosed receptionist that knows more than a medically trained experienced doctor.

As i understand they get so much for everyone on their list, then why not instead pay them for every patient SEEN! They would be begging to come then.

Didn't they give it an overhaul in March 2020 where you can't see a doctor at all. How is that working out ?

Being able to actually see one would be nice. 🙄

My docs, you gotta be on that line at 8am on the nose, if you're 3 seconds late you get a voice message then you get cut off, who exactly is getting the cash from these connected calls? One time I called 68 times to try and get through. When you do actually get through, yip the message again then horrendous music sometimes up to 36 minutes. When I do hear a human voice, the receptionist, she'll then asks what's wrong with me, I ask what medical qualifications they have to ask me that, I need an appointment with a doctor. I have seen me phone for 9 days in a row trying to get appointments for my dad, mixed dementia, and my mam, pancreatic cancer. I'm seeing more immigrants coming and getting walk-in appointments with interpreters, my surgery does do walk-ins as stated to me many times. I went to the surgery at 8am to demand an appointment and the old man in front of me went off it when he reached the desk, the same thing, after days of phoning in to get an app for his wife and nothing, we both got appointments that day. I've now registered to book online appointments with mam and dad as I can't wait days for them to be seen, it's a complete joke. Nothing is mentioned about the amount of illegals here getting app whenever they want is there? Same with dental apps

It's not tinkering. My GP used to be good now I don't know what I need to do to get an appointment. I phone & get one receptionist & there is nothing & she doesn't know what to do . I phone back later get a different receptionist & I can be seen by a GP in a couple of hours. Hmmmmm. I think this is not going to work.

Watch as Will Kensington expresses concern about the state of the UK, arguing that Downing Street is no longer a place of power but has instead become Britain’s most expensive Airbnb.

This comes as Andy Burnham is set to become the UK’s seventh Prime Minister in a decade, with seemingly no one challenging the “King of the North” for the country’s top job.
