Can carbon offsetting help the planet? – BBC News

Published

on

Is it really possible to buy your way out of creating harmful greenhouse gases that cause climate change?

Governments, companies and individuals already participate in carbon offsetting schemes that try to balance their emissions by finding other ways to reduce carbon in the atmosphere by an equivalent amount.

"Sucking carbon out of the atmosphere" needs high energy which means producing carbon or environmentally non friendly materials

Too bad we couldn't take carbon carbon dioxide and methane out of the air and convert it to diamonds. Oh well, just walk as much as you can

Video quality poorly made. .Y not use the money to offset yourself from carbon causing environments.. In this world everyone wants to be in a city which leads to over abuse of the nature, self-health decline.. Y live a life like this sacrificing yourself and the Earth? The only drive for humans is power over things and all the countries complete over it.. All this growth in the end is for nothing but for the greed and dogma drama of these societies/countries.. So what can we do if humans are just scared always, Fear makes them compete with one and another towards the endless cycle of madness.. And here we are advising our kids to do the same mistake we are doing.. Will the rich ever consider to reduce the burden on humans simply by creating a space for them to offset from citylife/carbon.. Jobs closer to city, universities closer to city, schools closer to city, remember every time you accelerate the car you are killing your great grandchildren’s.. So why such a big ego to be the right/perfect person, why not try being just human.. “I hope I didn’t hit you up with unrelated details” But i can see its related to the collective consciousness.. The raise in demonic nature of man who’s extravagance in taking pleasure from subletting the novice.. “If your still following, you are worthy of being a human, there’s still a chance to make a difference” Educate your-self, wash your sins not only your cloths.. Spend your money exploring nature instead, cultivating it, nourishing it.. Withdraw your dominance and greed for power, pleasure and protection.. It is painful.. IT IS PAINFUL.. (Are you gonna break 🎵) How many would have cried? Women children Men living through HELL on earth… In the end is for nothing but your greed.. And if you think you are not responsible and sitting on a sofa chain in the middle of the city smoking a joint on your balcony, you are right too.. But remember you will realise you are some how responsible when a flood hits your city.. You are not directly responsible, but you let (or your society) it happen when you/they are conscious and connected to the WEB.. So you have to live with it every single day, you would wish you were deaf.. Just so not to listen to a sensitive negative story news again.. Listen to this everyday “I will make a better web around the world that nourishes nature and nurtures our great grandchildren’s.. AMEN..

The cataclysms will continue. Listen to what the scientists are saying. All people on the planet need to unite and build a Creative Society. On 24.07.21 there was a conference called "Global Crisis. This Already Affects Everyone ". People connected from 180 countries. There was simultaneous interpretation in 72 languages. Only through unity can we survive. Watch the conference. The fate of our civilisation is being decided.

Millennia after Millennia the charlatan shamens have convinced the masses to fear natural phenomena, claimed they understand it and worse, claimed they have influence over it in order to justify their authority and extortion.

And yet people keep falling for it. They have flipped the paradigm and deceived you into believing the planet is at our mercy, as opposed to the eternal reality of the opposite.

'You have angered the (insert entity of choice here)!!! Repent sinners and make a sacrifice for redemption!! (provide money, resources, daughters to please and passify angered entity).

Perhaps it is the interruption of the transmission of cultural, wisdom and knowledge that is responsible….

Imagine a world if you will, where a government or institution can claim to be able to control a planets temperature for money.

Each year the plants will grow a little less and the summer will get colder! Maybe you could reduce the amount of planes in our sky and the filth that whites out the sky? Then ban all private air travel and billionaires sending rockets into space?

Cyber Attack: Ransomware causing chaos globally – BBC News

Published

on

Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught out by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

Is this AI’s moment of truth? | BBC News

Published

on

A year ago, artificial intelligence was being sold as something close to science fiction — a technology that could transform society, cure disease, even reshape the global economy.

Today, the tone is changing. The companies leading the revolution are racing to the stock market — chasing billions in investment — while quietly confronting a much harder reality: AI is expensive, unpredictable, and far from profitable.

At the same time, some of the very people building this technology are warning we may be going too fast — even calling for a global pause.
And beyond Silicon Valley, a different story is emerging: growing public anxiety, political backlash, and the rise of what some are calling anti-AI populism.

So is AI entering its most pivotal moment yet — caught between financial pressure, technological risk, and political resistance?

AI Decoded Presenter Christian Fraser is joined by Financial Times AI Editor Madhumita Murgia, Thematic Strategist at Deutsche Bank Research Adrian Cox and Richard Coffin, Host of popular investing podcast ‘ The Plain Bagel’.
