One new union which has been discussed is the CANZUK model, bringing together the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We discuss why these countries, if it will happen, if it would work and what it means for Brexit going forward.

I'm Canadian and this seems like desperate idea by the Brits who didn't really think Brexit through. It also makes me uncomfortable hat it only includes the 4 White majority nations without a rationale. So I'm against the idea and for Canada deepening ties with the EU.

This all sounds like a pipe dream. I think the UK should try to forge closer relations with its European neighbors instead of trying to reach out thousands of miles away. Whether the Brits like it or not, the UK is still very much a European country, so it must stick to its immediate neighbors instead of distant relatives.

After Churchill's preference to defend India over Australia in 1942, Harold Wilson's withdrawal from East of Suez in 1968 and Ted Heath joining the EEC in the 1970s, no one in Australia believes that the UK would ever commit to our region over Europe.

Skeptics always use distance as an arguing point against the Union, but they ignore two major factors
1. How come all four countries used to have close ties before the uk entered the EU? The uk was Australia’s biggest trading partner before the uk left them, surely if they could be successful decades ago then they could absolutely make it work with today’s modern technology?
2. Everyone does a massive amount of trade with China, especially a lot of African countries. If dozens of oversea states can have stable trading deals with one economic powerhouse, then four powerhouses can make it work despite geography

From the tone of this explanation I think I can safely say the speaker is not an advocate of CANZUK.
He suggests that the survey was not a fair appraisal of how citizens in the 4 countries feel but judging from his comments section I think he has his answer albeit not the one he would have liked. He also suggests due to distance it probably would not work. I suggest he investigates these countries territories (Britain has many) as these could be used to help in the transfer of goods and services. He also hardly mentioned the huge benefit of sharing the same common language and never mentioned prior to the EU that it was very common to see New Zealand lamb in UK shops or British cars on Australian roads and much much more. This can be achieved if we have the will power of the people in power. It just seems to me currently very few people know about it. At least this video goes some way in changing that.

I just read the UK didn’t want Australia to be a party at Potsdam. Australia did want to be a party to the negotiations. Now, having second thoughts about helping the UK, after Brexit. As it happened, MacArthur appointed an Australian as second in charge, in his Japan command. The UK was only marginally committed against the Japanese compared to Australia and the US. Australia should prioritise the TPP (with the US returning) over the UK.

The CANZUK countries (if it ever happens) in the CPTPP will have to follow the same rules as the rest of the members, won't they?

It's far more than trading of goods its economic trade with our banks so all our banks may have easier trading with Asia and the USA. that being said it needs to incorporate Singapore. This would also give us access to a wider world, and the movement of people which will give us an unseen advantage.

As an English Man I would rather have people here from CANZUK Nations living and working here rather than Eastern Europeans. I can't explain to you how hard it is competing in the unskilled job market while we were in the EU. We have educated kids leaving school who can't compete against Polish people who talk very limited English. It's even harder to explain how Europeans had more rights than me in my own country.
