Is AI a good investment? | Global News Podcast
Three of the world’s leading AI companies are preparing to sell stock publicy for the first time. Elon Musk’s rocket company Space X – which owns xAI and its artificial intelligence chatbot Grok – is set to debut on the Nasdaq on Friday, targeting a share price that would value the company at $1.75 trillion.
The ChatGPT creator Open AI and Anthropic – the makers of Claude – have also filed for initial public offerings – sparking massive interest from Wall Street veterans and first-time investors alike.
So, should you invest in AI? We ask the BBC’s business editor Simon Jack whether it is a good investment, and why some people are worried that the AI bubble could burst.

Royal Marines Take Control Of Russian Shadow Fleet Tanker | BBC Newscast
Royal Marine Commandos have boarded a Russian shadow fleet oil tanker in the English Channel in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Marines, joined by National Crime Agency officers, with the support of the RAF, intercepted and boarded the vessel in a six-hour operation – the first operation of its kind by UK armed forces.
The vessel, Smyrtos, will be held and monitored off the south coast of England as investigations continue, the MoD said.
