How King Charles could fix Trump and Starmer’s relationship | BBC News

At a moment of tension for the UK-US “special relationship”, will King Charles’ meeting with President Donald Trump help smooth relations with Prime Minister Keir Starmer?

Last week, President Trump told BBC North America Editor Sarah Smith that the King could “absolutely” help repair relations, but this follows numerous attacks from the US president towards Starmer over his position on the US-Israel war with Iran.

BBC’s Jo Crawford spoke to North America Editor Sarah Smith to examine the political backdrop to the King’s visit to the US and with Royal Correspondent Sarah Campbell, to explore Trump’s fascination with the British Royal Family.
