World set to breach critical warming threshold warn scientists – BBC News
Our overheating world is likely to break a key temperature limit for the first time over the next few years, scientists predict.
Researchers say there’s now a 66% chance we will pass the 1.5C global warming threshold between now and 2027.
The chances are rising due to emissions from human activities and a likely El Niño weather pattern later this year.
If the world passes the limit, scientists stress the breach, while worrying, will likely be temporary.
Hitting the threshold would mean the world is 1.5C warmer than it was during the second half of the 19th Century, before fossil fuel emissions from industrialisation really began to ramp up.
The 1.5C figure has become a symbol of global climate change negotiations. Countries agreed to “pursue efforts” to limit global temperature rises to 1.5C under the 2015 Paris agreement.
Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by climate editor Justin Rowlatt.

Cyber Attack: Ransomware causing chaos globally – BBC News
Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught out by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

Is this AI’s moment of truth? | BBC News
A year ago, artificial intelligence was being sold as something close to science fiction — a technology that could transform society, cure disease, even reshape the global economy.
Today, the tone is changing. The companies leading the revolution are racing to the stock market — chasing billions in investment — while quietly confronting a much harder reality: AI is expensive, unpredictable, and far from profitable.
At the same time, some of the very people building this technology are warning we may be going too fast — even calling for a global pause.
And beyond Silicon Valley, a different story is emerging: growing public anxiety, political backlash, and the rise of what some are calling anti-AI populism.
So is AI entering its most pivotal moment yet — caught between financial pressure, technological risk, and political resistance?
AI Decoded Presenter Christian Fraser is joined by Financial Times AI Editor Madhumita Murgia, Thematic Strategist at Deutsche Bank Research Adrian Cox and Richard Coffin, Host of popular investing podcast ‘ The Plain Bagel’.

The leaders of the world can not do what it will take to turn the climate change around, it can be pretty simple really, power struggles and greed will doom the world, it's unfortunate we're being lead to by fools who think we can move to another planet

What if the warming is caused by nothing other than a natural cycle of the universe we live in i.e. the Milankovitch cycles? Though we shouldn't be polluting the very air and environment we live in, it could be misconceived that we are also responsible for the global warming side of things. We haven't been around long enough to view a complete set to Milankovitch cycles, so why the short-sighted assumptions? https://youtu.be/BiszEo62vJE

The world is being severely damaged due to human created pollution and destruction of natural environments. These things are quite obvious and can be traced back to human overpopulation. The hypothesis of anthropogenic (i.e. human caused) climate change has no hard evidence to support it.
The problem with the concept of anthropogenic climate change is that proponents consider only a few decades in their personal experience of the climate in their locality and then conclude that what they have experienced during their lifetime constitutes ‘normal’ climatic conditions. They then interpret any deviation from that supposed ‘normal’ climate as evidence of supposed anthropogenic climate change.
However the current climate, over all regions of the Earth, has been drastically different at varying times in the Earth's history. The coldest portion of the last glacial period began about 110,000 years ago and a warming period began about 12,000 years ago. Thus, for 98,000 of the past 110,000 years, the ‘normal’ or ‘typical’ climate consisted of as much as 30% of the Earth’s surface being covered with ice. The ice sheets covered vast areas of Europe, North America, and Asia; up to three kilometres thick in some locations, with the ice completely covering Canada and as far south as current day London, England.
Ref: https://donsmaps.com/icemaps.html
Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Glacial_Period
Note also that there were forests and abundant animal life in the Antarctic during the Cretaceous period which ran from 145 to 66 million years ago.
Ref: https://www.bbcearth.com/blog/?article=when-dinosaurs-roamed-antarctica
The Earth has been much warmer and much colder at various times in its history long before the human race even existed as a species, let alone as a technological species. Our ephemeral existence is not long enough to determine what is ‘normal’ or ‘typical’ for the Earth's climate. Note that the human race has only been keeping climate records since about the year 1850 and what we know of climate over geological time spans comes from scientific study of the matter via geological evidence and samples of Antarctic ice and not from direct observation.
Ref: http://www.bgs.ac.uk/discoveringGeology/geologyOfBritain/iceAge/home.html
Read the articles cited above and get a grasp of the length of time involved in geological time spans. The entire history of the human race is but a blink of an eye in comparison with the age of the Earth and the climatic changes it has seen. What any of us have personally observed in our lifetimes can in no way be described as a ‘normal’ or ‘typical’ climate for the Earth throughout its extremely long history.
Rather than the false flag of supposed human caused ‘climate change’, we should be concerned with environmental pollution, environmental destruction and overpopulation. Those are the factors that put the human race and the planetary environment at risk. The best thing we could do as a species right now is to reduce the human population by using the very effective methods we have available for birth control. A smaller population would result in less resources consumed and less environmental pollution. For those who still believe that there is such a thing as anthropogenic (human caused) ‘global warming’ or ‘global climate change’, a smaller population would mean less resources of all kinds being consumed and consequently less ‘greenhouse gases’.
Note well that over the last 100 years the human population has grown from about 1.5 billion to about 8 billion people, increase of over 530%. Breeding more and more human beings at such a rate cannot go on forever due to the consequent stress on the environment. The inevitable consequence of unlimited population growth will be insufficient resources to provide sufficient food for an overly large population and an unlivable environment poisoned with toxic wastes.

Here in San Diego of this year so far, we havnt had any record highs of our days and had been only 5 days all year at 90"degress. In Fact our weather has changed into a more cooler climate with more rains than ever before. Only change is constant raining of a week long patterns every 2 months. Its strange for rest of world to get increases of high temps except for US in San Diego. Cant just go ahead and move out here for everything involving rent is 3 times higher than average prices. Most of US here works 3 jobs, share housing within family, mass array of roommate living along with renting out rooms which is a trend here more often than other cities.

The only part that doesn't jive well is the fact the media will start with climate change and stress about temperature rising and then show footage of flood and rain.
Isn't obstruction to ground seepage and water runoff due to nested construction and overwhelmed water management reason for city flash floods. How come only cities are facing brunt of climate change?

Harvest Time is nearing. We will reap what we sow. If only we realised how humanity destroyed the nature given by our Creator, we will regret of abusing the gift that was freely given. But instead of regretting and stop abusing, we continue to destroy and never repented and become more abusive. We then now called it Climate Change. Is it really a Climate Change or human character change? We've been created beautiful by the Powerful All Knowing Great Father in heaven. But what we did in exchange? We destroyed His creation. When are we going to come to Him and ask His forgiveness and follow his Laws and have Covenant with Him? You can reply me, and I will lead you to those who are gifted with knowledge and wisdom of the Heavenly Kingdom. This Heavenly Kingdom is now starting to grow, and soon will become a huge one. Just like the mustard seed, when it grows and become a huge tree it can shield many. Be blessed.

Before you say that you deny global warming, first realize that you’re denying the Greenhouse Effect, which has been the only thing that’s been keeping this planet from being frozen solid for hundreds of millions of years. Note that the Earth’s atmosphere contains only 0.035% carbon dioxide, which is enough for the ‘greenhouse effect’ to sustain our current global temperatures. About 700 million years ago though, the evolution of cyanobacteria consumed so much of the CO2 in the atmosphere that the entire planet turned into a giant ice box during the epoch called Snowball Earth. So, if taking carbon dioxide out of the biosphere can do that, what do you suppose the doubling of the current amount will do within the next fifty years?

The science has many assumptions regarding climate change which may be correct. However, in 10 years, technology may, and I suggest will, develop so much that new fuel cleaners or indeed new clean fuel may be created. This would mean that all stop oil protests will have no bearing on climate change. It will be an absolute fact that those middle class protesters rather than shouting at windmills should assist in the technology and academic study of new fuel creation.
Another way to stop climate change would be to stop poor countries dependence on fossil fuels because they have no option. Therefore any protests logically should be taken to India or China, where I think they would get very short shrift.

A report quietly published by the UK meteorological department has revealed that global warming stopped 16 years ago with no discernible rise in aggregate global temperature.
The data, compiled from more than 3,000 measuring points on land and sea, noted that the “plateau” or “pause” in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperature rose from 1980 to 1996.

Spring is still cold and dreary then Summer bursts out beautiful which fades to absolutely glorious Autumn then comes Winter sliding in with lots of snow, sometimes not much snow, like it has for my whole 65 years of life.
