“Britain’s MOST EXPENSIVE Airbnb” – Will Kensington MOCKS the STATE of the UK
Watch as Will Kensington expresses concern about the state of the UK, arguing that Downing Street is no longer a place of power but has instead become Britain’s most expensive Airbnb.
This comes as Andy Burnham is set to become the UK’s seventh Prime Minister in a decade, with seemingly no one challenging the “King of the North” for the country’s top job.

With this Government's insistence on us all driving EVs, we will HAVE to spend money on infrastructure, as they are so heavy that they will be wearing at the roads at a much faster rate than the far better ICE cars (not to mention the inconvient fact that our multi-storey car parks will have to be strengthened too !) . 13 years of Tory Govt and the Welfare Bill is at a record high, tax burden on the state at a 60 year high and more people on the public sector pay roll than since 1982, I read somewhere ! Could Labour do any worse ?????

Liz has realised (or, more likely, somebody told her) that politically illiterate numpties are now a huge demographic in England.
They react, (much like my dog) to tone rather than content, and any promise of pie in the sky, especially when writ large on the side of a bus, will win their vote.
I wonder, have the more perceptive given up trying to turn the steering wheel of history down better roads, and resigned themselves to an uncertain future ?
Would I have protested against the Roman invasion ?
Would "Right" have been on my side ?
Would it have made any difference ?
Liz does not understand that "Growth" is the antithesis of "Sustainable" on a planet with finite resources.
She has all the credibility of a child's toy, with a winding key between her shoulder blades.
But then — if the English take Jacob seriously, the bar is set very low indeed.

The only way you’ll get growth is to increase productivity, I.e everybody back to the workplace, immigration, give pay rises to public sector to get them back to work. Pay for infrastructure improvements by shifting Tax burden up the income scale: £50k paying 40% tax!! REALLY!! Wealth taxes on super rich.

'Reverse the Corporation Tax rise'. Justify that. Or, better still clearly elucidate the role of global corporations on the UK economy. This, by necessity influences political decisions- does it not? Whose role is greater? It would be accurate to describe the UK as UK Corporation Inc. Why you bother to maintain the pretence that it's anything else, is an obvious absurdity. You know as well as I do that the take-over is complete. Democracy – hmm – let's all just keep on pretending.

Is an economic measure that strips out inflation actually that useful? If you have grown but are ignoring the fact you are going 10% in the other direction due to inflation, have you actually grown that much in pratice?
@DeeZire
December 30, 2023 at 6:03 am
No Jacob, real GDP is GDP Per Capita as that factors in the cost of living and taxation. By that reckoning the UK isn't even in the G20 having fallen from 22nd in 2016 to 28th in last year. Truss may not articulate in such eloquent economic terms but what she's saying is correct and reflects what people are feeling – she understands. This is the death of conservatism – where such thinking is discussed on social media, in comment sections and in forums but not in parliament.

@fksons4161
December 30, 2023 at 6:03 am
She is planning a come back which should never be allowed. She plunged us into this crisis with her arrogance and kitchen carbnet of individuals who are far away form Ordinary Brits
The problem with Britain is not that you do not have workforce but you over tax ordinary hard working Brits to provide free Launch to some people who clam all sorts of "Stuffs".
Britain can simply fill all the existing position if government can just move the threshold of 40% tax rate from current £52k a year to £65k. Allot of people do not want to take up more hours of work because once it reaches a threshold you earn far less than someone who works half of your hours, so there is no incentive t actually work very hard and more hours.
That is the problem with the UK. This will also address migration challenges as the current workforce can fill the available workspace and thereby reducing migration. Productivity means using little to achieve much. As long as the UK continues it's hardliner on tax threshold by taxing hard working people to hell, people will work less thereby making continues demand for labor a push for more migration which will put further strain on social serveries etc. It will be a continuous circle which o government can control.
Sometimes i wonder who are the economists who advise these clueless Politicians because this is too basic for anyone to not know. If there is no demand for Labor beyond local capacity , there will not be migration. Period.
@jasonm8807

Completely agree with Liam. The state does need to be reduced, and infrastructure is a must! But please, please COMMON SENSE put in the roads, hospitals, schools and services first, then build the homes, otherwise as usual we just seem to build new developments then we have a big discussion as to why we have so many traffic problems and say there are too many cars on the road…..its INFRASTRUCTURE!!! STRONG INFRASTRUCTURE = STONG ECONOMY
@MrJudgementday99
December 30, 2023 at 6:03 am
Please god shrink the state and make it more efficient. Britain will boom if they go for a combination of growth and low tax would make Britain the best place to do business
