Has anyone been able to find the new podcast episode? I'm eager to listen to it but I can't seem to find it — the latest episode appears to be "The Great Brexit Railroad" (October 21).

Corbyn and his few (other traitors) know what is best for the many. The working class should embrace their alienated neighbourhoods more. We can’t decide for ourselves, the career politicians know what is best for our communities. Germany will show us the way. We didn’t understand what we were voting for….
Well, I know what is best for the whole country: never vote Labour again.

can the UK force the people to vote? the very idea seems authoritarian but the lies…the lies man!!! the UK is in this position because of lies and half truths. the yellow hammer report is what the people should be basing their decisions on because it was not a certain party that released it. if forcing the people to do it is unethical then enticement must be used. and by enticement i mean the Government should foot the bill for one of the biggest fuckin parties ever. if they can pull millions out of their ass to pay for brexit ads then they can get the word out the drinks are on them in any bar for 24 hrs from the time that person voted–not from when the polls opened up. shouldnt be that hard as after you vote there should be someone at the door to hand you card with time stamp. consider it the governments "mea culpa" for puttin the people in this mess to begin with

UK politics needs huge reforming. The fixed term parliaments act is a disgrace…. I also think you need to remove the first Past the post system and replace it with some form of preferential voting. Labor and the liberal democrats are a bunch of absolute cowards. Do you really think the general public are that stupid and can’t see through all the bullshit and subversion you’ve been engaged in since pretty much the start of the referendum result…

I wonder why the change of date amendment didn't pass, given that having students vote surely is in the interests of the LD and Labour? And I would have thought the SNP and Plaid, given that they're seen as a brake on hard Brexit, and the younger are polling Remain.

Technically it's not official before the House of Lords approves the bill.

  47. @stevieinselby

    December 29, 2023 at 1:29 pm

What I don't understand is … if the FTPA requires a 2/3 majority of all MPs in order to call an early general election … but the government (or opposition) can table a one-line bill that amends the FTPA in order to call an early general election, and which only needs a simple majority to pass … does that make the FTPA the most pointless bit of legislation ever?
