Bengaluru Launches India’s First True Mobility-as-a-Service Apps | Front Page

Bengaluru just launched India’s first true Mobility-as-a-Service platforms — Tummoc and Namma Yatri — integrating Metro, BMTC buses, and autorickshaws into a single seamless interface. No more switching apps. No more second-guessing your route.
Built with open data from BMTC and BMRCL, these apps are designed to fix the city’s biggest commuting pain points: unsynced transfers, first/last-mile chaos, and unpredictable schedules. This is smart, multimodal transit — built in Bengaluru, for Bengaluru.
Backed by Mercedes-Benz R&D India, WRI India, and Villgro through the Enroute Open Data Challenge, the apps are already being hailed as a potential UPI moment for Indian mobility.
We also explore the rise of builder-entrepreneurs like EaseMyTrip’s Prashant Pitti, who are stepping in to solve Bengaluru’s traffic gridlock with AI, satellite data, and fresh thinking.
With the Centre rolling out the Sahkar app and public transit entering the startup era, India’s mobility wars are just heating up.
