‘Massive’ Russian strikes hit Ukraine energy grid – BBC News
Russia has launched a “new massive strike” targeting Ukraine’s energy grid, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
He added that the attacks were on a “very wide” scale, hitting regions in Ukraine’s west, centre, south and east.
In an evening address, Mr Zelensky said power had been restored in multiple areas where it had been cut off.
Officials had said earlier on Saturday that nearly 1.5 million households had been left without electricity.
In his video, Mr Zelensky added that most of the Russian missiles and drones were being shot down, and such strikes would not stop a Ukrainian military advance.

Model who alleges Kanye West choked her tells BBC she felt ‘suffocated and scared’ | BBC News

A model is suing Kanye West after claiming he assaulted her on a music video set in 2010.
Jennifer An told Fame Under Fire podcast the US rapper choked her and stuck his fingers in her mouth while filming a sequence for the music video in which he was making a cameo appearance, leaving her feeling “suffocated, unsure and scared”.
Lawyers for the rapper do not deny the encounter took place, but have argued it was part of an “intense and provocative theatrical performance”. His representatives have been contacted for further comment.

Extra police are brought into Belfast and public transport is closing early, after a night of violence.
The violence erupted after a knife attack in the city on Monday. The suspect has appeared in court charged with attempted murder, threatening to kill an NHS radiographer, and possession of a knife. Hadi Alodid, 30, was remanded in custody for four weeks and is due to re-appear in court via video-link in July.
The family of Stephen Ogilvy, the victim in Monday night’s knife attack in Belfast, say “unrest is not welcome, and peaceful protest is the only way forward”. Meanwhile the Chief Constable of the PSNI has sworn to prosecute those involved in spreading misinformation online.
