Correct me if I'm wrong: D-Cells from a person's immune system can be modified to kill cancer in that same person's body??

2 days ago when I first saw that thumbnail, I was going to make a comment about it. That thumbnail has been changed, probably because of all the comments about it. I totally forgot about said thumbnail, until I saw that woman and was like… wait a minute, wasn't she on the thumbnail?

lol. This isn't REALLY being created for your benefit..

option 1) You submit your DNA because they promise to help you cope with the environment you were never meant to survive in eating food you were never evolved to eat, they create a DNA editor to inject back into you, you (or the taxpayer) pay licence fees for the rest of your life.

option 2) You submit your DNA, they screen it looking for markers that indicate the likely presence of traits they don't want in a population, they release a bio-weapon targeting people with those genetic markers, the remaining population has a low IQ and a compliant nature so the privileged elites who control these gene companies will likely never be at risk of losing their power again. The return of an aristocratic system and the permanent stratification of society follows.

PLAYING WITH THINGS YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND WILL END IN TRAGEDY FOR MILLIONS. BUT DONT LISTEN TO WHAT GOD TELLS US I MEAN HES JUST THE CREATOR OF DNA. WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR DNA , YOU CANT GO BACK. SO IF THE SIDE EFFECT IS GROWING AN EXTRA EAR ON YOUR TONGUE , YOU WILL REPRODUSE CHILDREN WITH THE SAME OR WORSE GENETIC DEFECTS.

Disruptive is the right word for this technique of cutting bits of DNA out. They made the same mistake with tomatoes, cutting out the Gene for ripening to extend shelf life, then found they stayed on the shelf because the same Gene enhance the flavour and with the shelf already full of Tomatoes, growers couldn't sell their next days produce of tomatoes.

Cutting things out of frontal lobe of schizophrenics brains appeared to get rid of the symptoms but you are left with a useless human being dependent on health care for the rest of their life.
Because cutting pieces out of a living organisms DNA alters them for the rest of their existence it's extremely dangerous and may appear to solve the immediate problem but result in a far more horrific problem in the future, more horrific than any plague that has hit the human race in the past

Because there is no cure for cancer, some people think it is intended to not find a cure. That "Big pharma" it is taking advantage for the sake of money and population control.
Why is that? Sure, there is a cure and medicine for a good amount of diseases that were incurable a decade or 100 years ago. Why do we feel entitled enough to create a conspiracy against the researchers.

Fuck I hate crispr and the brainlet buzz around it. Didn't a researcher in China prove it doesn't work with complex genomes? At least you talk about other techniques.

I'd hope the country with > 5 times the population, more developed infrastructure, greater GDP, and wageslaves would have more facilities.

There's a reason life sciences are the easiest, and one of the least respected disciplines in science.

Cyber Attack: Ransomware causing chaos globally – BBC News

Published

on

Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

Is this AI’s moment of truth? | BBC News

Published

on

A year ago, artificial intelligence was being sold as something close to science fiction — a technology that could transform society, cure disease, even reshape the global economy.

Today, the tone is changing. The companies leading the revolution are racing to the stock market — chasing billions in investment — while quietly confronting a much harder reality: AI is expensive, unpredictable, and far from profitable.

At the same time, some of the very people building this technology are warning we may be going too fast — even calling for a global pause.
And beyond Silicon Valley, a different story is emerging: growing public anxiety, political backlash, and the rise of what some are calling anti-AI populism.

So is AI entering its most pivotal moment yet — caught between financial pressure, technological risk, and political resistance?

AI Decoded Presenter Christian Fraser is joined by Financial Times AI Editor Madhumita Murgia, Thematic Strategist at Deutsche Bank Research Adrian Cox and Richard Coffin, Host of popular investing podcast ‘ The Plain Bagel’.
