Kristen Wiig on Wonder Woman 1984, becoming a mother & life in lockdown | Life Lessons| Bazaar UK
Kristen Wiig is best known for her work in comedy – from Saturday Night Live sketches to hit cult classic Bridesmaids – but now the actress is branching out and starring in her first ever superhero blockbuster: Wonder Woman 1984. Appearing opposite Gal Gadot in the superhero sequel, Wiig plays Barbara Miverva – otherwise known as Cheetah.
“Hair and make-up really helps me get into character,” she told us on the set of her Harper’s Bazaar digital cover shoot. “Especially the character I play in Wonder Woman. She goes through quite a lot of different looks in this movie; it was almost like playing four different characters. And definitely towards the end, the whole Cheetah, everything, was pretty intense. I didn’t really enjoy wearing the contacts, I have to say. But everything else was pretty cool.”
In our exclusive video interview, Wiig tells us what she’s learned about style, beauty and friendship, what life in lockdown has taught her and what it’s like becoming a mother to twins in 2020.

Life in lockdown? Ohhh poor celebrities with their millions of dollars and personal assistants. Meanwhile the rest of the country had to keep on working for a pathetic salary, she makes on on movie what would take me 10+ years of working 5-6 days a week. But please tell me all about your life in lockdown. Oh the struggle.
