The latest statistics coming from the police and other law enforcement agencies concerned with the ban on handguns is that most of the handguns seized by the police were in fact not stolen from Canadian citizens but were instead illegally smuggled into the country through the border. This is coming after the Liberal party put a ban on handguns in the country in the month of August amidst incidents of shootings in Toronto and other parts of the country.

Of course, the government was met with opposition to their aim of banning handgun imports with some Canadians saying that the ban on the import of guns wouldn’t solve the problem but then Trudeau, being the strong headed politician that he is, chose not to heed this important advice. Now, the current happenings have yet again shown how bad these people at the Liberal party are at governing and doing the right thing for the benefit of Canadians. Information now shows that many of the handguns seized by the police in the city of Toronto were smuggled into the country from the U.S border and not taken forcefully from law abiding citizens.

Recall that in the month of August, Marco Mendicino said, and I quote, that “When we announced Bill C 21 and the national handgun freeze, we said we would use every tool in our box to keep Canadians safe. Today, we are announcing a national ban on handgun importation, bringing the ultimate impact of the freeze into force sooner.” The foreign affairs minister, Melanie Joly soon joined him in this by saying that she had the right to ban any import or export permit in Canada, which of course would include handguns. The Liberals were so confident in what they were doing as though they were right and anyone advising them to do otherwise was wrong. Now, who is the fool?

The much talked about Bill C 21 was first introduced on May 30 by the Trudeau government. At that time, Trudeau said, and I quote, that “We are introducing legislation to implement a national freeze on handgun ownership. What this means is it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere in Canada. In other words, we are capping the market for handguns. And we will require the permanent altercation of long gun magazines so they can never hold more than five rounds.” The fishy part of this whole stuff with Bill C 21 is that Trudeau just can’t wait to get it passed into law and that begs the question why? Because we know that this government can never do anything with the purest intentions, I can assume that the ban on handgun imports is connected to Trudeau’s eagerness to take handguns out of the hands of every Canadian in the country and the shooting presented him with the opportunity to do so while waiting for the bill to be passed.
