Up until now, the UK has managed to keep television news relatively neutral, with all the major players taking an apolitical stance. That looks to change though with GB News and News UK both set to launch this spring, becoming Britain’s first right-wing news networks. In this video we explain the proposals as well as discussing if the UK’s ready for foxified news?

It's more uninformed nonsense from those who think the BBC is left or right.
I have BBC news on a lot…sometimes all day. I've never seen anything that suggests either side. It reports the news and especially with political topics, they'll add 'here's what one side says and gets what the other side/critics say'. They challenge anybody with opinions puts opposing viewpoints to them and you can tell the Right To Reply is a big deal there.
You certainly don't have presenters monologuing about news stories. They have guests on who debate amongst each other. I don't know why anybody would want to hear the news according to one person's opinion. I want to hear the facts and make up my own mind, whether it's for or against the party I support and I do support a party. I'm currently a Conservative Party member and I'm fine with saying that the current government is rotten, out of touch and criminally incompetent. I think we deserve to lose the next election so it's forced to abandon the far-right turn it's recently taken.

I thought news media were legally required to be fair and balanced.
Why has american opinion-based 'news' come to the UK? Who is lowering the standard? UK news media is about to throw away its advantage of being about reporting big stories, just to get views, even if just from a certain demographic.

Television, alongside newspapers and any other professional source of information should be a heathen for unbiased news. What the americans have is a shitshow. Getting unbiased news is pretty much impossible, at least according to relatives of mine living there. We have a good system here, it could be better, but it is good. This would be the start of people who can afford it to have the possibility to feed an insane amount of lies to the average brit. We would all end up being fed whatever information we want to hear in our bubble. We would eradicate our best way to find reliable information. Now I'm not saying that this channel will do all of this single handedly, but it will be the first step.

It’s nothing like Fox News. I have some issues with it (and more with Fox News) but it’s easily the most open and honest (and interesting) news TV channel in the U.K.
They often feature stats and stories not featured on any other media channel. And they’re kind of independent and not tied to the govt.
