My sugarcoated life is a song I am SO proud of and I knew I had to give it a more interesting and unique approach for it’s music video! The concept is essentially exploring the idea of how glued to media we are, we are so braindead that we will even mindlessly watch static on our TV if it means getting to stare at that sweet succulent screen instead of any actual real world interaction. The song has a sample of a conformity experiment, basically challenging the idea that if somebody else says something, you feel more inclined to say it to conform, to fit in. So, mixing that with the topic of the song being about having to fit in and/or mask so you can survive in your house despite it being not welcoming to you or your identity felt so right!

I also really wanted to do a video with a more scrapbook aesthetic, mixing papier-mâché and vintage images, very coquette vibes. And although that does fit my first album more so than this one, I feel like I was still able to tie in the “trapped in the pastel zombie morgue” vibes with it as well! So, overall, I’m really happy with this music video even if it’s on the simpler side and there’s also the lyric video if you’d rather watch that instead!
