   Sanctions cut both ways.Russia has plenty of money stashed away, their national debt only about 18% of GDP , ours is about 96%,Greece over 200 % I believe
   Russians do not enjoy same standard of living.
   Doubt sanctions will have much effect even stopping buying Russian energy-they have the financial reserves and China will buy their energy

   We have huge natural reserves of gas, oil and yes, coal. But these are off limits, because Tarquin and Jocasta say so. So Mary in Wolverhampton can freeze, while Trustafarians rant.

   With the obvious risk of an emboldened China towards Taiwan and the inevitable sanctions which will have to follow surely this must spell the end of Globalisation?
   We should be concentrating on more Self-Sufficiency now.

   Temporarily knocking all green taxes off our energy bills (and anything else come to that) would be a start towards resolving the cost increase on energy and products that rely on energy for manufacture and transportation to the point of purchase. We have to get real and think about the “right now” given the contribution to the global issue we could make by following this economically suicidal policy (less than 1%).

   The UK produces oil and gas from North sea, but it all goes abroad! And in this crisis you'd think the government would buy from oil producers in the North sea to help working class, but nah Boris and Sunak offered some residents £150 council tax rebate and £200 loan from energy companies to be paid back by installments!!

    The fruits of Globalism and Cultural Marxism and now here for all to see. 50/60 years of "managed" decline and here we are; a paper tiger. A new power is rising in the East with Russia & China and we have let it all happen. No significant manufacturing base left here therefore game over. I'd laugh but its too sad for words.

    I don't think so. Thanks of Brexit, the UK is not part of the mess that is the EU, and can shop around and free trade with basically everyone. Brexit is turning out to be the BEST thing that's happened to the UK since the victory in WW2.
