Really sorry to hear about this. Jobs shouldn’t be at risk..however do we need so many airports in the UK when we need more land to build more houses as so many people need accommodation

Our local council handed over the reigns of our local airport (Plymouth) to a local property developer, and there was a hidden clause that if after 3 years they couldn't make the airport pay they could build houses on it. So the inevitable happened, despite previously being a profitable airport, the take over caused it to lose money and guess what the local developer (Sutton Harbour Group SHG) wants to do. There is so much corruption in councils and all forms of government.
SHG asset stripped the airport by selling off the landing spots at the large destination airports, Plymouth being a feeder airport, and leave it with no connections. They basically killed it.
The fight back has been massive and will continue.

There is an airport in North Manchester called Barton airfield run by Peel Holdings. Very poorly run. But they also used to run Ringway airport…..badly….till Manchester corporation took over and mad it huge.
Peel Holdings are cowboys. Charlatans and I'll bet Doncaster council have shares in there somewhere…..just saying…..

It will only suffer if the elites let it happen, GREED is the order of the elitist and the little people who actually work for a living have to pay for it day after day, and the mainstream media is a classic doom mongering bunch, like they did with the big virus issues in the past few years, profit before people that is why the economy is in a mess because big businesses don't put the money back into their business and pay those workers a good living wage, instead it goes to off shore accounts and super yachts and aircraft and property abroad, just as many over paid MP'S are in the same category.

Peel Airports did the same with Teesside. As soon as they took over it went down, with the intention of selling it for development. Our local MPs bought it and now it's steadily growing.

it's not going to be saved, net zero demands less air flights, and by less air flights they mean us plebs, the more northern the better

Patrick Christys reveals the TRUTH of today’s annual net migration figures ‘exodus of young people!’

Patrick Christys tears into the government over the latest annual net migration figures, accusing ministers of trying to “spin” the numbers as a success story for Britain. Christys argues the headline figures fail to tell the full story, warning that an increasing number of young Britons are leaving the country as frustration grows over high taxes, rising living costs, and a lack of economic opportunity under Keir Starmer’s government.

In this heated discussion, Christys claims the public is being misled about what the migration data really means for the future of the UK economy and society. He argues that while ministers celebrate lower net migration totals, the reality is that thousands of skilled and ambitious young people are choosing to leave Britain altogether. The debate focuses on whether current government policies are driving an “exodus” of talent overseas, with critics warning that rising taxes and economic pressures are making the UK less attractive for workers, entrepreneurs, and families.

Political commentator Ellie Wheatley also reacts to the figures, highlighting reports that more than 136,000 Britons left the country last year. Wheatley argues that many are “fleeing Starmer’s high-tax Britain” in search of better opportunities abroad, raising serious questions about the direction of the country and the long-term impact on Britain’s workforce.
