Coronavirus: Italy extends strict measures to whole country – BBC News
Italy is extending its coronavirus quarantine measures, which include a ban on public gatherings, to the entire country. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said that people would only be permitted to travel for work or family emergencies. He said the measures, which come into effect on Tuesday, were to defend the most fragile members of society. The decision follows a large increase in Italy’s coronavirus death toll – which jumped by 97 to 463. It is the worst-hit country in the world after China.
In the United Kingdom, people who show “even minor” signs of respiratory tract infections or a fever will soon be told to self-isolate in an effort to tackle the coronavirus outbreak. The Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the UK government’s chief medical adviser Chris Whitty said a change in advice could happen in the next two weeks. Five people have now died from coronavirus in the UK.
As the international community struggles to contain the spread of coronavirus, the World Health Organisation has praised China for its response and suggested it offers a model for others to follow. But inside China there’s anger over the way the authorities have handled the outbreak, with censorship being stepped up, which is the very approach that experts say helped to accelerate the spread in the first place.

Violence broke out across France on Saturday during the latest day of demonstrations against hardship in schools and the cost of living.
At least 1,200 people were arrested during what the French government described as an “escalation in violence” alongside an estimated 550,000 taking to the streets.
In Paris, there were significant clashes into the evening with riot police, who used tear gas and water cannon on crowds.

The jury in Russell Brand’s rape trial won’t see a TV documentary that a complainant says led her to come forward.
Judge Mr Justice Bennathan said it would be unfair to show the Channel 4 Dispatches programme because the allegations it contains have not been tested in court, but said that jurors will hear about it during the trial.
The 51-year-old actor and comedian faces seven charges – three counts of rape, three charges of sexual assault and one of indecent assault.
The allegations, made by six female complainants, span a 10-year period between 1999 and 2009. He denies the charges.

The BBC has witnessed Israeli settlers attack Palestinians and set fire to olive trees in the occupied West Bank.
Several dozen settlers dressed in black charged down a hill near an outpost – illegal under Israeli and international law – to a field where Palestinians and activists were harvesting olives. They torched about a dozen trees and hurled stones from slingshots.
Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was at the scene, was taken to hospital where she told reporters she “got jumped” and described being kicked on the ground.
The UN says the past two weeks have already seen more attacks by violent Israeli settlers than during the entire harvest season last year. It says this year levels of settler violence have reached an all-time high.
The BBC’s Middle East Correspondent Lucy Williamson reports from the occupied West Bank.

I live in Bergamo. near jna main street of the city, I remember the days before the lockdown, you could hear 15-20 ambulances every evening, a few days later they closed everything, I volunteered to bring food and medicines to those who were positive and locked in their houses, when they paid you you put the money in sealed envelopes, the soldiers stopped you on the street. everything was impressive, I will never forget the silence of the city broken by the ambulance sirens

Its the masks, masks store bacteria in the mask and this gets into the lungs and can cause lung infection especially in older people. This seems like more of a politically fueled hysteria than an actual virus.

Coronavirus is not new its just the cold virus. And masks are not good to wear they store bacteria in the mask and can cause lung infection. All this draconian measure to a fake hysteria is useless and faciest in my opinion.

This vid says March 9th. It's now 4 days later, and most numbers they quote doubled at least (spain for example went 5x) per the same place they got their data, see the bottom right corner of the numbers, John Hopkins.
