The UK government and the banking system have failed the UK public .
Hunt and his like using words like technical recession he is either lying or or has no understanding of the recent banks going bust or the reality of a country running out of resources due to the sanctions it took out on Russia & China + the problems it has with the EU .
UK is in recession and its going to get a lost worse ,the UK public are being slid down the road into a Mad Max dystopian world ,ok for the MPs on £82000 a yr and £200,000 expenses ! /UK

  7. @shadowbanned975

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

We are not in a resession. We are in a period of "temporary economic decline" during which trade and industrial activity will be reduced. 😂

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

It won't be a crumb of comfort for those really struggling.

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

The Conservatives can pretend everything is just fine and dandy after kicking the country in the teeth for years but no matter what they say now after turning everything they touch to shit, it's still shit in this country for the vast majority of working class people and no amount of propaganda, BS and lies is going to change anything for the better…no matter how much they try to paint it or gloss over the hardship people are living under struggling like mad just to survive without going into massive debt.

  13. @Fjodor.Tabularasa

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

That is what you get when you are ruled by colonists and cheer woke policies.

  14. @nightwingtrp7399

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

Increasing from £40k to £60k…. what's the point in this? The average pay in this country is below £30k, so someone who worked all their time and used none of their money and only put it into pension wouldn't be able to use up the original allowance!!! This is just tax breaks for the uber-wealthy. Think about the earnings of someone who's putting £40k per year into a pension…. if they were earning £100k that'd be taking them down to £60k a year… the sort of person putting £40k per year into a pension is probably earning over £150k so this is just utterly pointless for your average person and I doubt it'll do anything useful for the economy.

  17. @kevincoshner310

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

Surely, these `forecasts` that were given by JH, riding into the next 3/4 years yet announced as though factual, are partially `crystal ball` thinking? Although JH announced the aim and intention of the Tories, that is not the arrival point!
A little humility when announcing what is expected to happen in the distant future would certainly be in order.

  27. @MrTaytersDeep

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

    Basically said with the beer,
"I have that much contempt for you working class that voted Brexit, the only thing you will get from it is not getting an increase on the 2/3's of pint in tax you already pay.

  28. @vvwalker7261

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

Who is this stupid woman? The pension cost for the government is only going to get higher. People need to save as much as they can for retirement, starting now as the system has to become means tested at some stage. A cap is sensible but not at a level that encourages key workers to leave the work force early IMO

  29. @gregmoore167

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

Gnerally I find nuts pretty hard to crack, and so do sometimes resort to a hammer…I think this phrase was not best thought out by he, or she, who coined it!

If the USA is not in recession!
Because Joe biden says it's not , to spite the fact 3 terms are negative ( the usual standard or recession, until biden arrived in power ) then UK is defo
    "not in recession "

0.1% Growth Is Nothing To Sing And Dance About…. Lowest Decade Of Growth In History. Highest Tax rate In 70 Years. Wages In Real Terms Lower Then 2008…… Enough is Enough. !

OBR and BOE haven't got a bloody clue.

  34. @shawnmillar2998

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

These people are morons! The lifting of the pension cap on Doctors will, in a single stroke halt the early retirement of said DOCTORS!

  35. @topfour9160

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

At £5 a pint who can afford that 🙄

  36. @Lucky-Carnivore

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

God forbid the Gov should lie or fiddle the figures..As for the beer tax staying the same – the energy costs will be up +business tax so the publicans will obviously put the price of a pint will go up!

  37. @topfour9160

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

Hunt should have kicked the net zero into touch, this would have boosted everyone's wallet and secured Britain's cheap energy by opening up coal/gas Feilds. Instead all we got is hot air 😤

  38. @thereds1959

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

We got nothing but what’s new

  39. @juliebrouwer92

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

Let Labour open the flood gates and times for the illegals to work instead of free hotels, free health care, and free asylum money.

  40. @stumac869

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

The pension changes are to stop senior civil servants having to pay tax on their generous taxpayer funded pensions contributions and lifetime payments. The doctors argument is nonsense because they'll accrue pensions faster and can retire earlier subject to any age restrictions.

  41. @chrissharp5073

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

I have lived through over 50 years of Chancellor's budgets and amendments and have watched this country's decline as our wealth is eroded away. Ruination of the UK has been at the hands of our politicians who a all ways seem to think they know best…. They've been playing games with us for far to long, time for change. And don't think Labour has that magic wand, there just as incompetent

  42. @royboy1901

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

How can you save something when you never had it in the first place .this government thinks all the money earned by workers actually belongs to government and by not taking it from us says we are allowing you to have some thus saving you whatever they say they’re not taking ,it’s just bollox I’m finding it difficult to comprehend their absurd way of thought

  43. @christiandupille3690

    January 15, 2024 at 11:18 pm

She said George Osbourne was not a socialist 😂😂😂😂

  44. @AdventureCornwall.
