Russia fired cruise missiles at Ukraine on Friday for the first time in more than two months.
The air raid in Kyiv lasted more than two hours and all missiles were intercepted and destroyed.
It comes as Russia’s President Vladimir Putin announced he will stand for re-election next year.

Joe Biden has said he is āhonoured and humbledā after winning the US Presidential election. He crossed the threshold of 270 Electoral College votes needed by winning the states of Pennsylvania and Nevada.

The election has seen the highest turnout since 1900. Mr Biden has won more than 73 million votes, the most ever recorded for a US presidential candidate.
The result denies Donald Trump a second term after a divisive presidency defined by the coronavirus pandemic, bitter culture wars and social unrest.

One of the world’s biggest disinfectant manufacturers has issued an urgent warning, after President Trump suggested people could inject themselves with the substance to treat coronavirus.
The company which makes products including Dettol and Vanish warned that āunder no circumstanceā should its products be administered to humans āthrough injection, ingestion or any other routeā.
Disinfectants are poisonous if ingested and even external exposure can be dangerous to the skin, eyes and respiratory system. The Presidentās comments were heavily criticised by medical experts. Later he said he was simply being sarcastic. 50,000 people have now died in the United States from coronavirus infection.

The UK Prime Minister’s demand for an early General Election looks set to be rejected by Members of Parliament after opposition parties agreed it shouldn’t take place until after the European Union Summit in mid-October.
Labour, the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish National Party and Plaid Cymru the party of Wales say they won’t back the government’s bid for an election. They declared they wanted an extension to the Brexit date of October 31st to guarantee that the UK won’t leave the EU without a deal.
On a visit to Scotland, Mr Johnson accused them of making an “extraordinary political mistake”. It came as the House of Lords approved a bill to prevent a no-deal Brexit. It will get royal assent and become law on Monday.

A post-Brexit trade deal has finally been agreed, four and a half years after the UK voted to leave the European Union.
The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it would protect jobs and provide certainty for business.
After months of talks and frantic last-minute wrangling over fishing, negotiators finally reached agreement on Christmas Eve, with just a week to go before the deadline when the UK’s transition period was coming to an end.
The president of the European Commission, Ursula Von de Leyen, described it as a good and fair agreement.
Some business leaders said the agreement had come as a āhuge reliefā. However others ā along with some British politicians ā said they would wait to study the details of the agreement before reaching a judgement on it.

In Ukraine, in 2014, terrorists seized power with a military coup in the country! Since 2014, Ukraine does not have statehood! There was an unconstitutional military coup, the constitution was destroyed and the rights of all regions were violated. At the moment of anarchy in the country, there were regions that did not agree with the military coup and separated from Ukraine because their rights were violated! Such regions were Lugansk and Donetsk. The self-named government, which no one elected, led by Turchinov, launched a military operation to seize the dissenting regions. This is certainly propaganda news for Ukraine by BBC. Continous military sopport for Ukraine by the west will prolong Ukraine's misery.Ukraine can't win this war, even the British intelligence service knows this. Ukraine has already lost about 1.2 million soldiers and millions of dollars worth of western supplied military aid. Ukraine is an inferior army compared to Russia's military. There's no way Ukraine can win this war. The best option for Ukraine is to encourage them to go for peace talk with Russia in order to preserve what remains of the country. The west should not continue to push Ukraine to fight Russia because In doing so Ukraine runs the risk of losing its statehood.Moreover , because of catastrophic human losses, there will soon be no more any Ukrainian soldiers left to continue fighting Russia.
