Some people gamble their legacies down Mongolian toilets- That’s sad. It’s a mugs game. I’m glad my chromebook broke and I can’t play addictive “paid” games ( 0.00001p per hour)

If there not spending anything belonging to you and not comiting crimes, I think the government should butt out and deal with spending billions of our taxes a year for illegal migrants men to pay nothing for probably 10years or more,,cant enjoy the football,, cant go watch a good film anymore, cant get a decent book, interfering in what we eat and drink, jesus just shoot me,🤡🌍

It used to be cigarette advertising. That has been well taken care of. Should be the same for gambling.

We need to do away with this brain pseudoscience. Each person's brain develops differently, and we continue learning and maturing until we die. Keep the age of consent at 18 and teach children and adolescents how to be responsible adults who can fend for themselves. On the other hand, gambling needs better regulation such as making spins slower, limiting the max bet per spin, and vetting gamblers who want to stake large amounts (e.g. >1000).

    I wouldn’t bet on it!

The advertising has been relentless… bingo is often advertised in the late afternoon…little wonder to me that it's now a big problem….

Why are they just hitting 18-24 year olds when many who have gambling addiction are a lot older?

Lets not forget it was labour that deregulated gambling.

No joke, I've lost every time I have put a X on the ballot paper. It's had a devastating effect on my life.

So 50,000 out of 60+million population! Statistically irrelevant and not large enough to change the law! This is Nanny state bullshi#!

Should the State tell people how to spend their money and is not such a suggestion a form of socialism?

  13. @alastairharris1866

    January 10, 2024 at 2:04 am

some people have a problem with gambling, and would seek to regulate it out of existence!

Ironic government wants to reform gambling when it uses these same tactics when it comes to the economy. The difference… if someONE gambles it may only effect them and those immediately connected. If government gambles then ALL of its citizens suffer the results. So who is REALLY gambling responsibly?

  15. @sirbasilflapjack671

    January 10, 2024 at 2:04 am

I bet 50 quid this reform won't go through.

Good luck with that. They'll have to fix the corrupt Gambling Commission and the National Lottery first
