Ukraine War creating “global food crisis” says world trade body – BBC News
The war in Ukraine is creating a disastrous crisis in the world’s food supplies that could last for years, according to the World Trade Organisation.
Ukraine is a major global exporter of wheat, contributing 9% of the global market. It accounts for a massive 42% of the global sunflower oil market and 16% of the world’s maize.
However millions of tonnes of grain are sitting in warehouses and Ukrainian ports unable to be exported due to the war.
African countries are being hit especially hard by wheat and fertilizer shortages, according to the WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.
In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.
He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.
Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.
Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.
The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.
It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.
The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.
Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.
Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

Food shortages is not because of Ukraine,that is an outright lie.
This is because of governments that are following orders from WEF, IMF and Bilderberg Group are doing this.
They are calling it "Agenda 30" and farmers are forced to close by their respective Governments.
It started in in countries such as India Venezuela a good couple of years back.
This is being orchestrated on purpose.
Protests all over the world have been happening and we don't get shown anything on MMS here in the UK.
We are purposely being forced into a world wide Humanatarian food crisis and disaster.
Never did I think that this kind of thing could happen to us in the UK and nobody seems to care.
Time to wake up folks.

Christians do this thing before they eat – they hold hands and thank God for the bounty
Assume that in the year 2018 a shop or restaurant owner is doing well – business is booming, the restaurant is full every day & the good times are rolling
Then Covid hits and suddenly the shop is empty and so is the restaurant
The owners cut jobs, curtail everything and yet find difficult to make ends meet
Now they understand who the real God is that is putting food on the table
The world is so interconnected now – what happens in far away Ukraine is hitting our dinner table
Our jobs our livelihood depends on the Chinese customer and vice versa
This is what Hinduism means by saying there are Millions of Gods – they are US!
We are the Gods!
The ancient Greek religion tried to tell us the same thing
What is frightening is that Christians and Muslims will then turn around and threaten these same Gods with hell – willing to bite the hands that feed them!
Only religion can engender such callousness

I am delighted at the resourcefulness of Ukraine. They have changed their rhetoric. The idea that the Russians will take over Ukraine and then Europe as a whole is no longer working. But now Ukraine is screaming that the Russians won't let it send out last year's grain, even though Putin has said more than once that he is ready to help with the issue. "You will all starve to death!" – Ukraine tells us. This is blackmail.
