    Oh fab 🥰 Used to have Nandos in Cape Town, many years ago when it was only an SA thing, and loved it. I didn't believe it when I first saw a Nandos in the UK – was sure they'd just nicked the name 🤣

    No that's not how Nandos is made. They boil it first underneath that fire where they roast it on later. I saw it here in South Africa and Nandos is from South Africa.

    The chicken is chlorinated and fed hormones to speed their growth which is surely not nice as the birds end up severely un well and lots of the chicken you eat is already dead and I have seen how poor the quality is! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️fuck nandos avoid at all costs !

    The idea of "marinade" is to let the meat impregnate the sauce. In this case the chicken has to rest 4 to 12 hours with the marinade.

    LOL nice try guys, but that floppy-ass chicken that came out your oven will taste nothing like Nandos and more like a spicy sunday roast. Interesting idea for a marinade. Ideally you want to soak in marinade in the fridge for a day. You want a peri-peri marinade, not just chilli and lemon.
    The main issue really is that you're not fire-grilling the chicken for that firm, slightly burned looking chicken. You need to par cook the chicken on a low heat for an hour or two after marinading. Then you need to pop the par-cooked chicken on a coal fired grill (or barbecue) for around 25 minutes to get that grilled goodness, the grilling is mainly to lock in the flavours, firm up the meat and provide that grilled taste – continuing to baste the chicken with marinade throughout the grilling process. Helps to have the marinade handy in a wee pot to the side with a basting brush.
    THEN, only then will you get somewhere even close to actual Nandos. Add some Nandos peri-peri sauce and it's like being in the actual nandos.
    For the chips you want to deep fry them. Not roast them.
    Amateurs. tsk-tsk.
