Labour’s Keir Starmer has accused Rishi Sunak of being “out of touch” with the public over the amount of time it would take the average person to save £9,000.
He said that the prime minister would spend the same amount annually to hear the swimming pool in his constituency home.
Mr Sunak said that his government had put local people “back in control” of building more housing.
