Buckingham Palace said the Queen continues to experience episodic mobility problems, and will not be attending the State Opening of Parliament for the first time in almost 60 years.
Her son the Prince of Wales and grandson the Duke of Cambridge will be jointly opening the new session of Parliament on the monarch’s behalf as Counsellors of State.
